Better than Expected
Sherry from Indiana
I purchase this for a guest bedroom. I was knew it would come ready to assemble. It took about 2 12 hours for me to do by myself. It was very easy and fool proof to complete. The drawers have extra support so they can hold quite a bit of clothing and I just love how you can only open 1 drawer at a time to prevent the dresser from tipping over. Excellent safety addition! The look is better than I expected. The only thing I did not care for is that the bottom of the dresser is 2 particle boards and not 1 solid piece. Little bit of advice... put together close to where it is going to be set up at. It does not do well moving around.

I must say I am very impressed with this chest. It was not that difficult to put together and seems to be quite sturdy and of good quality. It arrived undamaged although it did not appear to have been packaged very well. It is a small chest but it does hold all my toddler's necessities and I love that the drawers cannot be opened all at once to prevent accidents with the little one. Another surprising feature is the support slat under the bottom center of the drawers- a rare find in DIY furniture, especially for the price. No more worrying about the drawer bottoms popping out! Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.
Excellent Construction Detail

Don't be afraid to tackle assembling this quality dresser. The instructions, with detailed pictures, are the best that I have seen and the construction hardware is top notch. Total assembly time, and I am pretty slow, was about four hours. Once put together, the piece looks far more expensive than it is. All drawers glide perfectly on their tracks and there is even hardware to prevent you from opening multiple drawers at one time (which could cause the dresser to tip forward).

I needed a chest and nightstand for a spare bedroom reno and they totally fit the bill as I wanted the expresso finish to complement like aqua walls and white bedset. I also ordered the Shoal Creek one drawer nightstand to match. The color is a deep rich expresso brown. Both extremely sturdy and well built. Even though they are not 100% solid wood they are heavy pieces and a bargain at this price point. Both arrived well packaged and undamaged. Luckily my son is a mechanical engineer and put them together for me with no complaints. I totally would recommend both pieces and would purchase again if the need arises.
Very impressed on the quality

I was looking for a small dresser that wasn't too expensive. My guest bedroom isn't very big but I needed something to store things in. My husband put it together with ease and even he had to admit that the quality was great for the price. It even has metal drawer glides with I love. I don't like dressers/cabinets that just has a piece of wood that goes down the middle to guide it. The drawers are roomy and it fits perfectly.

I LOVE THIS CHEST OF DRAWERS ! It took a while to get here because I am in Canada and it had to go through customs - but it was well worth the wait. My Son-in-law assembled it with no problems, which took about 3 hours or so and I am using and enjoying this piece - the white colour I chose is perfect in my room. I found the quality was great for the price (even with the additional cost of duty/US & Canadian sales taxes and delivery). I am a Senior on a very fixed income, cost was a major concern for me and I wasn't disappointed with anything about this purchase. I have no doubt that I will get many years of enjoyment. Sincerely Donna-Lee Cummings
Sturdy 4 drawer chest!
Mallory from Pearlington, MS – Verified Buyer
I loved how sturdy this 4 drawer chest turned out to be. It was made of great quality material, and you can tell it will last a long time. The only bad thing about it was it did have scratches on the material. I'm assuming poor handling while shipping attributed to the scratches. However, the overall quality makes it easy to overlook the scratches. It's sleek design gives it a modern look; yet, it can be easily used as a timeless piece of furniture as well. The drawers have a lot of space in them, and, conveniently, there is a lock system that only allows you to open one drawer at a time. Overall, I was very pleased with the Shoal Creek 4 Drawer Chest I received from Wayfair!
Worth the money!
Brittany from Glendale, WI – Verified Buyer
I'm usually the one to put together furniture and am more than willing to buy ready-to-assemble furniture pieces to save money. This one was a bit tricky because the drawers have a sort of mechanism that is suppose to help slow the drawers when they close. It ended up being a bit difficult (and felt like it was cheap) to install so I actually skipped the part and built the drawer chest without this part. So, the drawers are just a bit off. I almost felt like the part was defective. So, for the price it is a good buy but you may run into this same problem. Pros: Affordable, sharp-looking, plenty of storage room. Cons: Drawer mechanism felt cheap.

The product is very sturdy... very heavy and durable material, stronger than the typical press wood furniture around this price point. I recently purchased the piece so I can't speak to its longevity, but I believe it will last for awhile under normal wear. The assembly is time consuming but very doable, I completed it in a afternoon watching television. Overall I give it a 4 out 5 stars only because I haven't had it long.
Nice solid chest of drawers.
Rajeev from Townsend, DE – Verified Buyer
Even though the top drawer looks like 3 separate drawers, it is one single drawer as wide as the rest. Had to mention it so people know. It is actually a pretty solid piece and was pretty easy to assemble. The box is pretty heavy so ensure you have some muscle available to help move the box and assemble the unit.
