Very nice These things are heavy!! And they look really good, like "real" furniture. It took two of us to get started on them, but then my hubby figured a way to do it alone. We put 5 of them in a bedroom for our library, one will go in our family, and we aren't sure if we will put two more in the library or one in my sewing room.... yes, we bought 8 of them and are glad we did! |

Looks Very Nice bit of a pain to put together, but looks good finished and in place. The materials are pressed materials and would not withstand a great deal of moving around. Overall, a decent product for a decent price. |

Beautiful Bookcase - Exceptional Price We received the bookcase from Wayfair within 4 days of ordering and it was delivered by FedEx in excellent condition. The bookcase was assembled in less than 3 hours with excellent instructions. The bookcase looks like a beautiful piece of furniture. The detail is awesome on the top and bottom and the shelves look like they have moulding. If you are looking for a sturdy, well designed bookcase purchase one like this. The bookcase is made by Sauder and I have had several pieces of furnture from them over the years. Wayfair has an extensive inventory of furntirue items to meet your needs. Their website is easy th navigate and their communication from the time you order until the item is received is at the top. |

Great for the price Product Review The product is pressed board, with laminate. But it is sturdy and holds everything I need. I bought two 5-sheft bookcases and one bookcase with doors for a nice looking wall unit. Very pleased. Service Review Delivered right to the door. Very pleased. |

Sauder Library Product Review I bought three bookcaes from Sauder 12 years ago. My old bookcases are still OK. My library has grown substantially, so I decided to buy five more bookcases. Four of them have been already assembled, and i am waiting for the fifth bookcase to arrive. I think, it is very good product for the money it costs. Wayfair offers free delivery, no tax and very good sale price. Service Review Delivered as it was originally planned. No complaints. |

Our Home Office Product Review We purchased two bookcases and Sauders matching file cabinets to create our own desk arrangement. We had the bases cut off the bookcases and placed them atop opposite ends of a long grayblack formica table top (30 deep x 12 long) directly above the file cabinets, creating an attractive wall unit. Given the price range we wanted to stay within, we found the pieces quite satisfactory in function, quality and the look we wanted to achieve. Service Review Service and delivery were excellent. Somehow, the interior file holders had been misplaced. We called the company and within a few days, new ones were sent at no charge. We are very happy with this company and would definitely purchase from them again. |

Wish I'd Researched More This was the 3rd purchase of the same bookcase. (Two others were bought under a different email addy). Until today, I didn't put anything in the bookcases because I might have had to move one or more of them around the room. Hmmm, maybe that was my first mistake. This 3rd bookcase somehow ended up crooked - the top half is leaning to one side. I can't figure out why - it was put together like the other two. Nothing is loose - so why is it leaning? The 2 star rating for this item didn't reflect the leaning just in case it turns out I did something wrong. No, it's because the bookcase doesn't hold enough weight for my needs. I didn't see anything on the webpage that mentioned weight limitations for the shelves. I didn't expect to be able to load 100 lbs on a shelf but surely a minimum of 50 would have been nice. The manual shows a 25 lb limitation for the 2 adjustable shelves, 35 lb for the non-adjustable one in the middle and 50 lb on the bottom. That page is at the end of the manual. I have a physician's scale which is accurate so I weighed 3/4 of a shelf's worth of books. Wow - those alone were 52 lbs. OK, fine, I have 2 other bookcases in another room that those will go in. Next! I have some floppy binders (not the hard ones) with paper inside. I thought those might go on one of the 25lb shelves - wrong. They were just under 35lbs so I put them on the middle shelf and they didn't even take up the entire shelf. (See picture) I wish the shelf limitations were listed on the Wayfair website - that way, there wouldn't be any surprises after purchase and assembly. The reason I bought 3 of these bookcases was so I could get rid of my (3-shelf) bookcases in the living room and hallway. I'd already moved the books from 4 of these bookcases onto my bedroom floor and tossed 2 of the old bookcases. Now I'm concerned that, due to the weight limitation, I'm going to end up with a lot of books left over while there's still plenty of room on the shelves. I'm just glad I didn't purchase a 4th bookcase which I was considering. The good: The bookcases look good when built, they have a manufacturer's warranty and are built in the USA. The bad: They can be easily chipped and the weight limitations are too light for my needs. (Your mileage may vary). I'm not sure about the leaning issue - attached is a photo showing 35 lbs worth of binders; now I'm wondering if the 2nd bookcase also leans. In the end, I would recommend this bookcase but only as long as the shelf weights were also provided. |
