Does the trick, should last a long time!
Kirk from Upstate NY – Verified Buyer
We looked for a long time for the right armoire for hanging clothes storage, and finally settled on this item, which fell at a good spot between ultra-cheap ($150-$200) and high-end solid wood ($1000 and up). The armoire arrives in two very heavy boxes, well wrapped. Removing the pieces from the boxes takes a fair amount of patience in itself, as well as a good box cutter. The packaging did ensure that though there was some surface damage to the boxes during shipment, there was no damage to any of the wardrobe pieces. Setup is best with two people, preferably ones who work patiently and well together, as the setup is straightfoward but time consuming. It took nearly two hours from start to finish. Directions are quite clear for this sort of project. There was an initial "new furniture" smell from the pressed wood components, as other reviewers have noted: we had to leave drawers and doors open for several days before it dissipated. The end result: this piece of furniture look great (pictures are accurate -- the "distressed finish" means there are yellowish streaks designed in the laminate coloring), does the job well, and is sturdy enough that it seems like it should last for a good long time.
Great Little Armoire
Nancie Wysong from Maryland – Verified Buyer
I put this together in about 4-5 hours. I am not a skilled handiman type (handiwoman) but as long as you follow the directions in the order that they have you assemble, you will do fine. After reading other reviews, I decided to hang the doors while the cabinet was lying flat on it's back (before installing the back) and I was happy that I did, because got in on my back, had my son place the doors evening over me, and I screwed them in while shut inside. They came out hanging even with even spacing that I think I may not have been able to do otherwise without help. The wood is pressed wood covered in a plastic like paper finish for the most part. There are very few solid wood pieces (fronts of the drawers and doors, sides of the drawers, and some of the trim pieces, but the rest is pressed wood/fiberboard, but the quality is pretty good).. That said, it is pretty sturdy, and looks nice. I was married to a cabinetmaker for 20 years, and he would never have allowed a piece like this in our home, but for the money, it is a pretty good little piece and fairly easy to erect and it really doesn't look bad at all. I have it in a spare bedroom for extra clothing storage.
Sturdy and mostly easy assembly
Trish from Los Alamos, NM – Verified Buyer
This is a great piece of furniture. Assembly is much easier than a different armoire we had ordered and returned (not from Wayfair). The color is a dark brown (almost black) with some lighter brown distressing, it is very nice. The pieces are heavy MDF, and for the most part not flimsy. The only "flimsy" parts are the bottoms of the drawers, which isn't an issue unless you plan to put a bunch of heavy items in the drawers. I plan to put clothes in there, so no big deal. We are putting our TV in the top part, and will be taking part of the back piece off (it has perforated lines for this) so we can mount the TV to the wall, but still have the back piece framing the sides so we won't be able to see the wall when the armoire is open. Everything was going smoothly until we were about halfway through assembly and realized the last piece required to put on the bottom front of the armoire was missing pre-drilled holes. So we contacted Wayfair customer service for replacement parts, and were told that the manufacturer can't expedite them out, and we will be waiting a week and a half for the replacement parts. So we now have a half-assembled armoire that we can't stand up and is going to be taking up most of the floor/walking space in our bedroom until these parts come in. I would have rated it 5 stars if it weren't for this mishap in craftsmanship.
Worst purchase of my life!!!!
Janet from Massachusetts – Verified Buyer
Do NOT purchase this armoire. I kid you not, this has been the worst purchase of my life. It's a piece of junk and it totally fell apart in just a short amount of time. The drawers are made of cardboard, it's flimsy and it moves around all over the place. All my clothes have fallen off and down the back of the armoire. It cost me an extra $200 to hire someone to put it together and it took him over four hours. Between the cost of the armoire and the cost of the assembly I'm into it nearly $1000 and it's completely and totally unusable! It's literally a big piece of junk. I think I should get a full refund and they should pay for someone to come and haul it away.
Sauder Haror View Armoire
Ann from Monroe Township, NJ – Verified Buyer
This is my third Sauder piece - the second in the Harbor View Collection. I ordered the computerdesk for my shore home and could not have been more satisfied. The size of the unit fits perfectly in our office and blends beautifully with our beach decor. I needed extra storage space in my Monroe home and the Harbor View Armoire does just that. It looks beautiful and was very easy to assemble, My husband did it with ease and he also installed extra shelves. Between the shelves and the bottom drawers, the piece accommodates a lot of storage. The price and the fact that the Armoire is MADE IN THE USA sold me. I would highly recommend Wayfair and their products.
Not perfect but good
Cynthia from Brooklyn, NY – Verified Buyer
These piece is good looking. The antique paint effect is a nice touch. They hold a fair amount of clothing but there is a catch (isn't there always). First, they do NOT have enough length to hang a short women's dress, shirts and pants only. Second they are a touch narrow for shirts, if you like to keep them perfectly ironed like I do. The sleeves were getting bunched but I was able to solve this problem by pinning them in front, like the dry cleaner does, with plastic clothes pins from the dollar store. I would give it 3.5 stars but I will round up because overall its a good prefab piece.
Easy to assemble, well made
Alison from Western Mass – Verified Buyer
I bought three of these to go in a row in my bedroom. The pieces are very thick and sturdy-- important for particleboard-- and the finish was convincing. It was impressively easy to put together-- all but hanging the doors I could do alone. They include a screwdriver but I'd recommend using a power drill as there are many screws. I installed plywood shelves in two of the three units and found the side walls more than thick enough to be drilled for shelf supports without worry. My only complaint is the backing which is conspicuously cheap looking because of the perforations so you can take pieces out of it.

Love it. Pros: Good price. Plenty of room, serves the purpose for when we have guests. Cons. Putting it together was tough but we got the work done.
Terry from NJ – Verified Buyer
My son actually put this together, he did have a few problems. it really requires 2 people to assemble. otherwise it is a nice piece. It serves the purpose.
Sturdy & great piece for bedroom!
Lauren from Berkeley, CA – Verified Buyer
I was super nervous about the color on this - I really wanted something white but with some vintage flavor... and it totally surpassed my expectations! It looks even more real and beautiful than I could have hoped for! I'm so happy with the piece. My only complaint is that it is HEAVY and hard to assemble. Good directions, but just takes time & precision. Definitely invite over your friend who knows what they're doing (if you're like me and you have no idea). Pros: Great real wood look, awesome vintage feel, spacious, drawers are easy to move Cons: heavy, hard to assemble
