Sauder Edge Water Lateral File Cabinet in Estate Black - 409044

I have gone through many file cabinets in my life and decided I was ready for something that was sturdy and high quality. Most office stores for the quality start charging you several hundred dollars -- the one i was going to get was $500 until i found this one! This one being less than $200, I was completely skeptical that it would be a good sturdy piece BUT it looked nice AND i read the reviews carefully and took a chance, Im so glad I did - it's quality, good looking!! I LOVE IT! The piece arrived QUICKLY. I do agree the assembly is complex and the pieces are heavy but that's b/c it is a QUALITY piece of furniture -- everything is predrilled and the pieces labeled. It took us about 2 hours, but don't let that scare you, it was worth it! And the directions were actually some of the best directions I've ever seen -- the detail on the directions was great and the pictures really help. If you choose to buy this, you won't be unhappy On the assembly piece, a few things we did to make it easy: 1. Lay all the parts out, and put the screws in separate bowls (the parts diagrams are great!!) (i mean when they called for a screw in a direction on that page they had a actual size picture of the screw that you could hold it up against to make sure you had the right one) 2. When we didn't understand a direction we used the pictures to help clarify (pictures are really detailed) 3. assemble on a towel so you don't scratch against a floor Thank you Wayfair!

It is a great looking piece, but it is a PAIN to put together. Directions are terrible, there are 50 + pieces, and the individual pieces are heavy. Sides are particle board so tend to break easily. Looked really nice once I finished it, but it took me about 6 hours total to assemble. Not worth it; buy something else.

Bought the Desk and File cabinet together after searching office stores and furniture stores for a "nice" desk and file . Most were cheap junk or were so expensive compared to these that I didn't see the value in the difference in costs. It takes awhile to assemble this and make sure you assemble on clean carpet as the composite scratches easily. You can touch up with black paint and it hardly shows. ( I nicked the desk top while assembling of course) Read the drawer assembly area closely. It's easy to make a mistake there in assembly. The desk had 3 cracked drawer bottoms damaged in shipping...they were replaced in 3 days No questions asked with an email replacement form. Excellent service there***** It's a very nice looking desk and file cabinet. Looks good and is heavy good quality. Would buy again in a minute. You won't regret this model desk or file cabinet.

We got to step 6 when the particle board began to come apart. What a disaster. 17 steps is not an exaggeration. This piece comes in no less than 100 pieces that you have to attempt to put together. 3 hours in - it doesn't resemble anything like the finished product and I am filled with regret for buying this thing.

Good value for price. The file cabinet looks good and is sturdy. Drawers move easily in and out. Only negative is directions for assembly could have been a little easier to follow.

I purchased filing cabinet, desk, and book shelf. this was for my home office. Stuff is inexpensive. You have to be able to read and understand directions. I would not recommend for heavy use. But it looks great once assembled.
