Sauder Edge Water Lateral File Cabinet in Estate Black

The legs twisted off when we moved it into it's position and the top was crushed on one end when we recieved it. It looks pretty nice, but it's very cheaply made and wouldn't last if moved.

I am happy with the file cabinet. The color and quality is good. The only complaint I have is that they failed to stain the very bottom strip. When the bottom drawer is all the way closed you can see where it isn't stained. Other than that it is a good file cabinet.

I ordered this hoping it would match my distressed finished desk and it did perfectly! I have purchased many furniture items from wayfair and have not been disappointed. So far, qreat quality for the price!

We like the file cabinet. It can be used as just drawers also. It is the same height as the executive desk which is nice to use together. It was simple to put together and it looks awesome. The price on wayfair at the time was lower tban any other store.

It is a filing cabinet that doesnt look like one - The style of it is perfect and easy to combine with other furniture of my home.

Pros: looks great, seems sturdy, system works, put it together by myself (I'm a 115 lb female), drawers move smoothly, the filing mechanism works well. Cons: instructions are very bad, drawers have a safety lock that is supposed to prevent both drawers from being open simultaneously - yeah that never works, you have to make sure the drawer is closed, or it will open up again on its own. In all, I would recommend it. If I had kids though, I'd get rid of it or keep the office door locked. That safety lock malfunction would likely bother a conscientious parent.

They have been good. The assembly was a bit time consuming but the directions were clear. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something similar.

The file cabinet is actually as we expected, made up of particle board with laminate finish. Assembly is easy enough though you have to be sure to keep things square as you get it together since some of the pre-drilled holes aren't as well aligned as you might like. Once assembled, the overall piece looks nice enough but does still have a little bit of that assembled particle board furniture look to it. Our biggest complaint is the drawer bottom. These are flimsy at best, so really the drawers can only be used for files. If you wanted to put anything aside from files (which hang from the drawer sides) in the drawers, the bottom will bow and likely fall through in time. It would have been trivial to make the bottoms a bit thicker making the drawers fully functional as drawers as well as file hangers.

This filing cabinet looks great and works great too! Easy to assemble and looks like an expensive piece of furniture. It holds tons of files and was a great value for the price.

I was thrilled to find this filing system for my new home office as it doesn't look like a filing cabinet and is not tall and skinny. It does look great in my new home office, but there are things to consider before buying. The previous reviews regarding the effort to put this together are no overstatement. This took my husband and me 2.5 hours to assemble. The pieces are not labeled well and there seem to be a LOT of extraneous pieces--for example, there are two pieces of wood stacked on top of each other for each drawer face. Also, this piece is HEAVY. Very, very heavy. My recommendations to Saunder would be to remove some of these extraneous pieces of wood to lighten it up and to rewrite these lame directions. Also, mine arrived with several dings and nicks to the top piece. If the dang package weren't so heavy (I couldn't move it into the house myself) maybe it would have arrived in better shape.
