Nice Product, Extremely Difficult Assembly
Krysta from Kentucky – Verified Buyer
The end product is really nice, I can't tell it's mostly particle board. Putting this item together, however, could have been easier. Not all of the pieces are labeled, but it's easy enough to figure out as all the pieces don't look the same. Assembly was a breeze, took about an hour and a half UNTIL it came time to put on the cabinet doors. The screws didn't fit properly in the brackets and my hands are raw from trying to get them to go into the wood deep enough for the drawers to open and close smoothly. The screws got stuck constantly and a few of them even got stripped because the gap they're in simply was not wide enough to accommodate the screw. It took me more than an hour to get the doors on, and I spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how to get them to open and close smoothly. Other than the assembly flaw, I was very impressed with the speed of delivery, packaging looked solid, although two center pieces were cracked in the middle, the cracks weren't deep enough to compromise structure so I went ahead and used them, I figured if they fell apart in assembly I would simply order replacements. The finished product does look fantastic, sits higher than expected but I kind of like that, and it is extremely heavy and solid as a rock. Even though it was a pain to assemble at the end, I would recommend this to a friend because the color and solidness of this piece really can't be beat for the price.
Nicely designed and looks good

A really nice TV stand, well built, good looking and very functional. I purchased this to hold my 50" TV, cable box, stereo, and gaming system. It's wider than my TV but that means that each of the three interior sections are 17.5" wide and will fit all my components and a center channel speaker. It's more of a charcoal black, than jet black. I keep my movies in the center drawer which works really smoothly. The TV stand has two wide plastic legs in the center lined up with the two interior walls to prevent sagging. Assembly was fairly easy but time consuming. It took about 3 hours to assemble it by myself. And it's very heavy, over 100 pounds, but that gets you thicker components, sturdier. I've assembled dozens of prefab furniture here's some tips: layout all the pieces to confirm you have everything, hand tighten all screws, don't use a cordless screwdriver (particle board strips-out real easy), and with any particle board furniture, always use wood glue to strengthen wood-on-wood joints. I would have given the TV stand five stars but one interior wall was cracked and one piece has the vinyl cover chipped off (it was manufacturing damage, not shipping damage). I was able to assemble it and used paint to touch up the missing vinyl. It's fully functional and the imperfections are now invisible. Pros: Looks good, wide interior storage, center drawer, nice design Cons: Manufacturing damage, needs bigger cutouts in rear cardboard to vent heat and route cables
Exactly what we thought we'd be getting!

We are very pleased with this tv stand. We were looking for something with glass doors so our 18 month old would stop pushing the buttons on our DVD player, etc. and this unit has worked out very well for us. My husband had no difficulty putting it together. He added some baby proof latches on the glass doors to prevent said 18 month old from getting in. One reviewer said it can get hot in the cabinets with the backing, so since we were putting all our electronic devices behind the door, we took his advice and left the back off. It still looks very nice and holds everything we need it to, with room to spare! We didn't see any dents or scratches in the product; it was packed and shipped very well, and came to us super quickly. Very happy with this purchase! Pros: Great value, easy assembly, looks nice
NOT NOT CHEAP LOOKING AT ALL! GREAT QUALITY

Solid, good looking but not without a few hiccups

Like most of the other reviews state, when it's all said, done and built this is a good looking piece that shows well beyond the typical particle board RTA furniture. The density of the boards is good, when put together it's solid and most importantly it provides lots of space for both A/V gear and living room stuff. I don't have a ton of components but my Blu-ray, Apple TV, gaming stuff all fix in the shelves with ease. That said it's no solid wood piece that seems to be a problem. My order was well packaged but even still I had a number of pieces with small chips and 3 with visible enough ones that I had replaced (Sauder lets you do this online, for free, shipped free). During the build I noticed the edges fraying if hit at all -- it's a veneer finish and needs to be treated as such [black paint fixed all]. PUTTING IT TOGETHER It took me around an hour to assemble everything myself -- you'll want to be careful on this to insure everything lines up well and with the finished sides out. The instructions are decent and get you through the build but don't always reflect that critical part. FINAL TIP: Get a bottle of wood glue, a white cloth and use it on the top and bottom. Sauder has some sort of expanding lock screw but it's hardly amazing... just a little glue helps.
Fantastic TV Stand

The stand is wonderful. It looks really nice in the room. It feels really sturdy. It's on the heavy side due to it's construction out of particle board. You build this stand yourself. I didn't rush construction, and it took me about 1.5 hours. Really simple, easy to follow instructions. Having all the extra shelves is really nice. I bought this stand because of it's size and the fact that there are so many shelves. I also wanted something that I could close, due to having a toddler in the house. I would rate this at 5 stars, however, the electronics behind the doors get really hot when the door are closed. Be careful about playing video games on a console behind the doors.. they get really hot. My PS3 locked up once because of the heat. Other than that, great stand.

I ordered the Edge Water TV stand and an island for my kitchen. Both arrived within 3 days of ordering. My son assembled the TV stand. Except for a couple of hole that were not aligned right, he had no problems putting it together. It's beautiful and I get a lot of compliments on it. Well worth the price. The island was assembled by me (haha). Had a little trouble because I put the legs on facing the wrong way, but once I corrected that problem, everything else went smoothly. Same with the TV stand, I love it, looks great in my kitchen, and I get a lot of compliments. Also, well worth the price. Will definitely shop with Wayfair again.
Would buy sauder products again.

Looks overwhelming at first, there's alot of parts. Separate everything. I even took the empty box and laid out a tick tac toe style grind with marker to label and separate all the fasteners. In the assembly instructions there is web address for a screw by screw instructional video. Incrediably detailed video. The best part is you can replay each step over and over and you don't proceed until your ready for the next step. If you can turn a screw driver you can do this one. I consider myself a semi-skilled do-it-yourselfer, and it took me 2 hours. Kind of maxed it out. Put a 60" lcd on it. Handles it well, and looks good. The sturdiest piece of put it together furniture i ever bought..

Ultimately, this console looks fantastic and we are very happy with the purchase. It is more of a very deep brown (almost black) color, rather than true black, but that's what we wanted anyway. Probably took 2-3 hours to setup. There were some scratches when it arrived which was disappointing. They aren't obvious now that it's setup and we didn't want to deal with shipping it back so we kept it. If it wasn't for the damage and time to assemble this would be a 5 star product.

This is a really nice tv stand. We've had a 60" flat screen on it for at least a year now & it has held up just fine. No bowing, warping, etc.....there's even a bottom support piece underneath the center of the unit to help stabilize it. The shelves are also a plus; I mainly use them for decorative items but they could also hold plenty of dvds, books, etc. Overall a great value for the price. Looks expensive, nice design, ample storage Assembly can take a while (at least 2 hrs)
