Sauce Pans & Sauté Pans

I just discovered Paella pans in the last 6 months or so... I now own two !... Great all purpose pans... You can use them on the cook top or in the oven... Now... I must make a comment about another review posted about the black steel paella pans... "Smells like rusted metal, once you wash it and the smell remains. I threw it away."... How sad... This person obviously never encountered something our ancestors and we would die without... STEEL... Smells like rusted metal???... Duh !!! What would you expect steel to smell like??? Aluminium oxide ?!?!... Anyway... These pans are excellent... Not cooking on "non-stick" chemicals with questionable health affects... Buy it, learn to use it... I've been using the stainless Emerilware from All-Clad for two years now and have been very happy with it. My biggest gripe has been that I didn't have a 2 quart pan in my set. I had 1.5 quarts and 3 quarts, but I was feeling a bit like Goldilocks and the three bears when it came to my cookware. Enter the 2qt sauce pan with pouring spout and nifty lid with drainage holes. This pot is perfect for cooking up pasta for those times when I don't need to cook for more than just my children. I love the pouring spouts and drainage holes on the lid. I can easily drain pasta without needing a colander. Anything that saves me from needing another cooking device that will have to be washed gets bonus points with me. The pot is a nice weight and is fairly well balanced. As far as pots go, this one is a little short and wide (I'd prefer taller and thinner, to be perfectly honest) but it gets the job done and that's what's important. This pan is STEEL... Yes, it smells like, well, STEEL... It does not smell like plastic... There is nothing wrong with a steel pan smelling like steel... Wow... Anyway... Get one... Cook on steel not plastic "non-stick" stuff... These pans will last a life time... I only wish an American company would make something like this... I use this pan to cook many skillet meals. Since I need to cook for seven people, this pan can fit all ingredients and still have room for stirring and no boil over problems. The cleanup is easy and while it is labeled dishwasher safe, I prefer to simply wipe out the pan with warm soap and water and put away. I have a cooktop which is why I chose the Infinite collection since it has a flat piece on the bottom of each pan. It works very well with cooktops and I absolutely love how evenly foods cook. The main drawback with this piece (and other Infinite pieces) is how heavy the pans are so those who have trouble lifting may have an issue with these pans. The other drawback are the round, smooth disks inside the pan where the handle is fastened to the pan; food gets trapped around these disks and are difficult to clean.
