I had got the Calphalon Katana knife block set as a wedding gift, but it was only an 8pc set so there were slots that still needed to be filled by knives not included in the set. (ie. bread knife, Nakiri knife, Chef Knife etc....) this knife was one of the ones that i wanted but was unable to find it locally, the block came with a santoku knife but it was only a 5.5", but this one really is the best knife in the entire block. this knife + the katana block set is the best bang for your buck for knives of this calibre. highly recomended for the at home chef."..." Read more

My girlfriend loves to cook. I bought this knife set for her as a Christmas present. Our old knife set was 10+ years old and falling apart, so she was really happy to receive this. The knives are sharp, the handles are shaped perfectly, and we love the variety of knives. The in-block sharpener is a great feature too. We have been using the knives for several weeks and are still very satisfied. We always hand-wash and dry the knives to keep them in good condition. I researched lots of knife sets and read countless reviews. I couldn't justify paying hundreds of dollars for an everyday knife set. This was reasonably priced [...] It also had a lot of good reviews."..." Read more

Ginsu 7" Stainless Santoku Knife with Cutting Board Set Ginsu

This stylish and useful knife is unbelievably sharp and absolutely unbeatable for slicing or chopping. I love the way it is always close at hand thanks to the clever combination cutting board/knife holder design. When I need to do some food preparation, I simply grab the knife out of the back of the cutting board and get to work! The only downside of the product is that because of the slot for the knife, rinsing off the cutting board can be a little awkward. I had to be very careful not to accidentally fill up the knife slot with water while I was cleaning the board. Other than that, I was very impressed with both the knife and cutting board, and use them every day. A high quality knife makes life a lot easier, and having it close at hand like this means I'm always ready to cook up a storm!Note: The product mentioned above was provided free of charge for the purposes of this review. This knife will be the knife you most often use in your kitchen. The grip is comfortable, weight and balance is superb. Wide blade makes scooping easier than a chef's knife. Granton helps separation of food and knife. Great knife."..." Read more
