Vacation dad from California	3.0 9/12/2010 A mixed bag (pardon the pun) We wanted an economical, large capacity, hard case for family trips in an upright style. This seemed to fit the bill and we've had good success with an older Samsonite ABS clamshell bag - it's just not as user-friendly to wheel around. Capacity is a double-edged sword though. With this bag, it is very easy to go over the 50 lb limit that airlines use before they start hitting you with extra baggage charges. Samsonite needs to redesign the extenstion handle - it feels weak when it's not extended (like when you're wrestling the bag in and out of the car), and even weaker when you extend it for wheeling the bag around. On my first plane trip it got a couple of nasty scratches on it because the carriers were not careful enough. Since it's 5 kg heavy to begin with you might easily pass the 20 kg barrier.
