<strong>Stack-On</strong> Junior Executive Fire Resistant Safe with Combination Lock Stack-On
Stack-On Junior Executive Fire Resistant Safe with Combination Lock

After scouring the local [...] and home improvement stores, I went online and found this safe. It was the perfect compromise between the tiny, so-called 'personal/home' safes and the huge gun safes. This safe feels solid and well built. The combo lock functions smoothly and without a lot of slop. The door opens easily. Inside, there is a ton of room and the shelves can be adjusted or removed as needed. The color scheme will match a lot more decors than many other units on the market. The only thing keeping me from giving this unit 5 stars are the mounting instructions which tell you to drill the bolt holes through the insulation from the inside of the safe and refers you to some non-existent marks to guide you. Let me save you some time...Pick the holes you're going to use and drill them from the outside in before you put the safe in place (the exterior steel is pre-drilled). Once in place, drill through the holes you just made from the inside out to mark the locations of the holes on the floor/wall. Oh yeah...This unit only comes with 2 lag screws to secure the unit even though there are 6 holes on the bottom and 3 on the back that you can use. I ended up picking up a pack of longer screws and using 4 to secure it to the floor."..."  Read more

This safe will be used for my family personally and is being flush mounted in the wall. This is a new construction area so after taking measurements from the safe after arrival, I framed in the base and opening. I think it would have been more difficult to mount if it had not been new construction. I like the safe and it appears to be what I wanted as far as fire resistance, heaviness to withstand a forced entry, and visually appealing. I did check into other safes in the same price range and found the interiors to be padded or a shelf in some,or both, with these safes being of the same size and fire rating. I feel the plastic tray is cheap and I would have liked it better if there was a slide in shelf that could be adjusted. Other than not having a shelf, I do like this safe and the metal trim that makes it a wall safe is heavily built and looks nice also. All in all I am pleased with the safe and would recommend it to a friend."..."  Read more

These safes are pro quality. The nice thing about these is the pushbutton feature. No keys to mess with or lose. Just push the security code (which you can make up your own) and give the round knob a small twist and the safe is open fast. The knob is heavy duty steel. Not junk! Very Beefy. My brother-in-law and sister wanted these for their beach house. This way if they want to go jet skiiing or swimming just a few seconds and your safe is open. Pop in your watch and cash and your good to go without worry. A nice easy install for a walk-in closet. I researched safes and have been looking for something like they have on a cruise ship or a hotel room. Well this is the one and then some. It also has a very slick little battery terminal on the exterior that you can hold a 9 volt battery up to and give you power to enter your keypad code and open the door to change out dead batteries. This feature probably will never need to be used as long as you change out the battery every year. Very heavy duty and high quality. Pricing here was the best, I know locally they were big $$$, alot more. They arent super deep but, enough for some valuables. Remember this thing isnt to lock up your entire savings and last will, just enough stuff that you may need locked up and then removed on a regular basis. If you have room for the deeper 6 inch model, I would suggest that one for more room. This thing also has a nice shelve welded right in the center giving you an extra row for your valuables. The paint finish is nice quality, although you can paint it. In conclusion this is the nicest safe I have seen and will probably order more from these guys. The interior carpet has an adhesive applied to make it stick to surfaces.Strong off-gassing was present inside the safe and we kept it in the garage for about a month with the safe door wide open to get as much of the odor out of the safe interior before moving it inside our home.Otherwise we are quite happy with the new safe. One last comment-The large safe came in a cardboard box with only minimum protection provived for its long journey to Ca. May I suggest that you better box this item before shipping. My safe arrived fine but the box was in bad shape."..."  Read more

What type of lock do you need?

We offer hundreds of safes with many different types of locks. Most safes come standard with one type of lock, but may have an option to change the lock type or add another lock for added security. The following are the different types of locks that we offer:

(1) Combination Locks:

Most combination locks are 3 or 4-digits allowing quick access to all of your belongings.

(2) Electronic Locks:

If multiple users will be using your safe an electronic lock may be the best fit for you. Most electronic locks can be programmed with more than one combination for multiple users. If you will be changing your combination frequently for added security, electronic locks make the task quick and easy.

(3) Key Locks:

When using a key lock, make sure you store your keys in a safe place away from your safe. It is a good idea to have more than one set of keys for extra security. In the case that you lose your keys, most companies will be able to send you a new key if you have a key reference number which will be located on your safe.

(4) Fingerprint Scan Locks:

This option, also referred to as a biometric lock, is an excellent means of controlling access to the safe's contents to a select group of people or just a single individual.

(5) Combination & Key Locks:

This option adds extra security to standard combination lock safes - the user will be required to enter the combination as well as the key to access his or her belongings.

(6) Electronic & Key Locks:

Like combination & key locks, this option affords the user the convenience of an electronic lock, with the added security of key access.

Fire Resistant:

Safes designed to protect your valuables in the event of a fire. We have safes that protect your valuables for ½ hour, 1 hour or 2 hours. Most of our fire-resistant safes are UL classified. UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.) has developed a rating system to determine a product's ability to endure fires of specific temperatures and lengths.

Impact Resistant:

Safes that have been exposed to many different tests and can withstand drops, and being hit with falling debris.

Waterproof:

In the event of a flood, the contents of your safe can be damaged if your safe is not waterproof. Although some safes are specifically waterproof, during a fire most fire-resistant safes will have a positive pressure inside the safe that will keep water out.

Humidity Control:

Maintaining the appropriate level of humidity is key, whether you are storing files, media or fire arms in your safe.

UL Burglary Rated:

Similar to fireproofing, UL rates safes based on resistance to burglars. Ratings are as follows:

  • UL Group 1: Locks that are highly resistant to expert manipulation or attacks. These locks must also have a minimum of 1 million combinations available and must work after being exposed to: salt sprays, aging stress, moisture absorption and vibration. Finally, these locks come equipped with a relocking security function, which means they will stay closed after being punctured with tools.
  • UL Group 1R: All benefits of Group 1 locks with added protection against X-Ray technology.
  • UL Group 2: These locks must withstand five minutes of various tests performed by a professional locksmith. Also, they must have a minimum of 1 million combinations available and must work after being exposed to: salt sprays, aging stress, moisture absorption and vibration. Finally, these locks come equipped with the same relocking security function as UL Group 1.
