When my husband and I pulled the dining room rug up...we found that the backing had come off. I suggested a new rug and no backing at all and a simple rug pad. This one is great we just put it down today with our new rug and it worked out perfect. It was a tad-bit bigger than our rug and had to be cut. A little off, (not sure if the rug or the pad didn't have straight lines) but we decided to lay the pad first and then the rug on top. Evened out two opposing sides and then cut. I have a horrible time with scissors and so was he, but my hubby always has a extremely, sharp knives handy. I held while he cut and it worked like a charm. Only four-stars because we have not even had it down for an hour yet, so far so good.
Works but tricky

I ordered a 8x10 rug so I needed a large enough non-slip pad to fit under it. This pad was a great price and does keep my rug from slipping which is great. The down side- It's SO difficult to put down and not crease up. It really is only non-slip when weight is put on it so it slides around while trying to place a rug on top.
Nail Them to the Floor
Suzanne from Atlanta, GA– Verified Buyer
I have area rugs throughout my house. This is the only mat that nails the rugs to the floor, making them easier to clean. When one walks on carpeted floor, sand and dirt goes through rugs and is stored in the mat below. So no matter how often one has carpets cleaned or in my case, I send the orientals out for washing, the mat is still dirty. I pick these up and wash them. Either allow them to air dry or dry under the air cycle of dryer. Works great.
Does the Job

Does not slip and is easy to trim if necessary. Have the pad under a large rug so am having a bit of problem keeping mat flat and straight while positioning rug -- there must be a trick to this short of four people stationed at the corners trying for a direct drop. In any event, this problem is no doubt universal with this type of pad.

I bought this to go under a rug that we use in our bathroom, on a tile floor. Rugs tend to slip around on the tile, but this pad has solved the problem. I bought it a little smaller than the rug, so that it wouldn't show around the edges, but it is thin enough that there are no ridges showing on the rug where the pad ends. I am very satisfied.

Ordered this to go under a square rug and had to cut it, which was okay. It does keep the rug in place, but does not furnish any cushioning. Is very similar to shelf lining that I used in my cabinets.
Satisfied but on the lookout for a better rug pad.

We purchased this rug pad almost a month ago and it has performed as it should...the rug hasn't slipped out of place and no one has tripped over an upturned corner.
Non-Slip Rug Pad

I bought 2 large sized Rug Pads and was able to cut them up to use underneath several rugs and runners and still had some rug pad left over.

I thought this rug pad was going to be really flimsy when I first opened it but once I placed it under my rug i was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to lay on the floor, easy to fit the rug on top, and it works amazingly! When I need another rug pad I will order one of these. Overall it was a great purchase.
Does the trick

Better on the "non-slip" than on the "pad" in the description. I bought the pad to anchor a 9 by 12 foot indoor/outdoor rug on a travertine floor. It works well for such a large rug under my dining room table. However, the pad provides no noticeable padding. While that works well for sliding dining chairs in and out from the table, I wouldn't want this thin pad under a living room rug..
