I purchased these slanted risers with the Original Step. Most standard risers come with a groove in the center which allows you to prop the step up on a slant and use it as a bench. Personally I've never felt to secure with that. If the step is not perfectly centered or you by chance shift your weight the wrong way the step will slip out of the grove. I find the slanted risers to be an excellent, secure, safe alternative.And it allows you to use the risers you have for more height. I feel it's worth the additional expense for safety.

Love these slanted risers for use with Standard Club Step in converting my step into an incline bench for lifting at home. I chose the Slanted Risers vs the Freestyle Step as the Slanted Risers allow for higher height off the ground, slightly more gradual incline & more stable set up (held in place on both ends of step vs just on the top end as with the Freestyle Step). One watch out: Am 5'8" and the step works well as an incline bench but if you're a lot taller, you will need an actual bench[...]Pro's: Sturdy, stays in placeCon's: Need to place some padding (folded towel) on the step as it's hard and the plastic ridges embed into your back/chest.
