worst RTA furniture I've seen
Randy from Michigan – Verified Buyer
This is among the worst in RTA furniture I've seen. I regularly buy and assemble RTA furniture from places like I[...] and the fit and finish of this piece are terrible. The "back" of the unit is a piece of folded cardboard. The photos are misleading, making it look like the sides and shelves are hevyweight, while instead there is simply plastic wrapped "trim" designed to give the appearance of substance.
[...] poor quality
Jon the Librarian from Milwaukee, WI
I needed two bookcases to store my collection and decided to shop online rather than going to a big box store since the products they sell tend to be cheap. I figured that since each bookcase was twice as much as a comparably sized one at an Office store, it must be better quality, right? Wrong. The product is heavy particle board (which is nice), but the 'laminate' finish is nothing more than cheap contact paper. You seriously have to be gentle while even unpacking the contents to prevent from severely scratching the cheap finish. Furthermore, because of the cheap finish, there were many pieces of trim that looked spotty, as if they had been worn down by a pencil eraser. The shelves aren't hard to put together and take 2-4 hours to put up. I got two of them and the second set's pieces were labeled incorrectly, which was frustrating. These bookcases will do the job for the few years I'll need them, but the quality of the shelves for the price I paid makes me feel like I was ripped off. Again, I wasn't expecting solid oak or anything, but I was expecting something that won't scratch or peel away when you place a book on its surface.
