Rockland 17" Rolling Backpack - R01

The best thing about this rolling backpack is that I can load it up with my laptop computer, books, and accessories and not only is it light and wheels easily, it does NOT tip over. It stays balance on its feet and wheels. That's really amazing! Lots of room and compartments, too. I am really happy with this purchase.

Got this for my granddaughter in the 4th grade. Loves it for school. Large amount of storage space. Rolls easily. Nice design. Good material. Looks like it will hold up for a good while.

I purchased this backpack for my 5 year old daughter because her non-wheeled backpack was so heavy when it was loaded that she kept dragging it on the ground. I wanted a rolling backpack that was colorful and girly without any characters on it, but doesn't look sporty like many backpacks do. I also had a limited amount of money to spend on it. This item seemed to fit the bill. This backpack seems to be well constructed and has lots of handy features (lots of compartments, a mesh pocket on the side for a drink bottle, etc.). Plenty of space to fit all of her typical kindergarten gear in it (soft-sided lunch box, jacket, papers, small rest blanket, extra shoes, etc.). The collapsible handle is heavy-duty (the kind you find on suitcases) and seems to work best only when it is fully extended (which is too long for my daughter who is 42" tall, but she used it anyway). There is no hanging loop on the top of the backpack - it does have a handle on top for lifting. We had to use safety pins to keep the shoulder strap extensions from dragging on the ground. My only real complaint is IT IS INCREDIBLY HEAVY (even when it's empty)!!! I have a hard time carrying it and I'm an adult! My daughter took it to school once and complained about it being so heavy she couldn't get it on and off the bus on her own. I'm keeping it because we already used it, it's a good product and she should be able to use it when she grows bigger, and it was such a good price that it would be a huge waste of money to ship it back.

I got this for my elementary aged daughters that carry bookbags that are too heavy. I like that it has a carry handle in addition to the rolling handle for easier lifting on stairs or into the car. It is a bit heavy, but there is a lot of room. For the money it is great so far!
