There are two ways provided to mount it - a convenient spiral screw hook and a more substantial mounting plate with a steel pin stay which holds the cord reel in place with less sway. Took me only about 20 minutes to attach it firmly to my ceiling. This cord reel features a strong, reliable retraction mechanism and a hefty 3-outlet molded plug end.
