I love new technologies and energy effiicency so LED lighting was something I was committed to despite it costing a lot.I installed these throughout my loft. They're awesome and I really like them. The dimming function is awesome and the square trim looks much more modern and interesting than typical installations. A few cautions to think about: 1) With the advent of the color variabled, wireless controlled LED lights which screw into traditional sockets, I can't swear these were the best option ... it'd be really fun to be able to have all green lights or something. But those products weren't out when I bought these, and I doubt colors would come up often. 2) Connecting the trim to the housing was really difficult for my contractor. He said that even some paint on the rim was enough to prevent them from sitting correctly. However, he compained about of a bunch of stuff so I don't know how significant this was. 3) Like with any downlighting, if you put these in your kitchen with a lot of shelves, you end up with a lot of shadows.
