Product is very good, seems sturdy, and answers the need for seat elevation and, with the addition of one's regular toilet seat, provides a much more esthetically pleasing appearance. The "hitch" for us, which we assume might affect others, was that our regular toilet seat didn't have open holes in its hinges and so, there was nowhere for the bolt to go through joining the two seats together and then, in turn, to the toilet fixture. After lengthy search (most stores offered the fixed bolt hinge) we finally found a seat with the open hinges and all was well! Perhaps Wayfair could find such a seat and offer customers the opportunity to purchase one as an add-on to this order."..."  Read more

I am a paraplegic and use the seat for my daily bowel program. It fits most toilets... WITH THE ADDITION OF A FEW TARP STRAPS TO KEEP IT IN PLACE. The seat has been my faithful traveling companion for several years and can be secured to most toilets by using the tarp straps. The clamps provided with the seat are virtually useless; I have yet to find a toilet that is compatible with them; they cannot be screwed tight enough to hold the seat firmly on the toilet. Their only value is providing a location for the s-hooks on the tarp straps. The least compatible toilets are those in Montana where the standard "handicap accessible" seat does not work for me and is designed so that straps cannot be attached... go figure. Previously I used a virtually identical seat from a different manufacturer, but have found the Lumex seat to be a better value overall."..."  Read more

I purchased this seat before buying a Kohler Handicapped Toilet. On a standard height toilet with the Moen seat I am sitting at 19 1/2 in. and with the Kohler Handicapped Toilet the seat is only 17 1/2 in. I am only 5 ft. tall with two very bad knees. I use a child step stool under my feet while having a bowel movement to incorporate the important upward push of the legs to assist the movement. I keep the stool next to the toilet. I am going to buy a shorter seat for the Handicapped Kohler Toilet since 17 1/2" is not tall enough. Hope Moen makes a shorter version of this one as it is near perfect."..."  Read more

The seat itself is well made, and very useful. I got it for my wife, who has knee issues and cannot get up from a low sitting position without help. The functional cutouts are, according to her, very helpful and well placed. The only issue I have with this seat is its method of attachment to the toilet bowl. The attachment is by gravity and friction. This makes the seat easy to remove, but removal is not preferred because the standard seat had to be removed to put this one on. Indeed, the seat is so easy to remove that sitting down on it in an uncontrolled fashion could remove the seat at an inopportune moment, shall we say. This hasn't happened here, because my wife still has decent mobility. IF, on the other hand, the intended user has very poor mobility, he or she would require more assistance than with a seat that attaches more securely. Again, this may not be a problem for you (it isn't for us), and the easy removal makes cleaning a breeze, so this is still a recommended product for most."..."  Read more
