We did have some problems with the plastic fasteners that hold up the blinds strings but with some strong glue to keep them in place the problem was fixed. We have them on an outdoor patio and they withstand wind and provide moderate privacy and block the blaring sun while letting just the right amount of the sun's rays through. Was this helpful? I do like to color, but they do not provide the privacy we were looking for (we were not looking for total privacy, but somewhat of a "block" from outside).
