I use these racks for shallow devices like rack effects and eqs. I racked my Marshall 8008 ValveState (a 1U space) which is at the depth limit for this rack. I had to mount it up one space from the bottom in order to have accesss to the jacks in the back of the amp. The lip in the back of the rack comes up and covers the bottom of the unit. So if you rack something in the top or bottom space, it will need to be at least half the depth of the rack in order to gain access to the rear panel of the unit. In other words, if you have a deep rack device, you may want to reconsider these. My Marshall fit, but in the bottom rack, I had no access to the jacks. It's a solid rack and perfectly built for rigorous road use. I bought two and they stack perfectly on top of each other. I actually have a vintage Crown DC-300A in one (which fits perfectly) and my rack gear (effects, synth, Furman power strip, and the Marshall 8008) in the other. This case stacks well with other X-rack cases and moves easily with the built-in wheels. The wheels could be a little bigger to provide more clearance but work well as they are. The biggest "con" to this case is SKB's choice to save a little money and make this a less expensive case than their other gasketed cases by making a smaller opening on the rear and using cheap plastic parts. It makes getting at the rear of devices to cable or plug in power to them a pain. It doesn't seal out dust or moisture and the cheap, plastic hinges will break at some time I'm sure. Otherwise it is a great case and I recommend it as I own 5 of these cases. SKB just needs to make these like their other cases and match the size of the rear covers to be the same as the fronts and use the gaskets to seal them."..."  Read more

I was shopping around for sometime now for a two space unit case to protect my Diditech Artist 2021 guitar preamp and finally found the best deal with Wayfairs.com on line! The SKB case is made very well with molded ABS plastic which makes it very light in weight. I love the way the X molded design is made on top and bottom in order to enter lock another case. When I received this Gator wall rack, I was extremely pleased by the heavy-duty construction. Nothing short of a hacksaw and crowbar can get into this case. I also like the options for ventilation and cable management. If you want this case to be completely secure, do yourself a favor and order the lock cylinders (GE-2DRLOCK, $20 or so each) for the removeable side panels as they are not included with this case. Even without locking side panels, it would be very difficult to remove any components once they are installed but they would still be vulnerable to vandalism.
