After getting her feet wet in the gourmet world of food at Macy's Marketplace in New York, and after assisting in opening Agata & Valentina, Ray decided that the NYC lifestyle was exciting, but not what she wanted long term, so she moved back to the Adirondacks. Once upstate, Ray turned her job at Cowan & Lobel into a dual position as food buyer and chef, jobs that she loved. As a way to increase grocery sales during the holidays, Ray began a series of cooking classes, which quickly became a happening. The cooking course promising to teach thirty "30-Minute Mediterranean Meals" exploded in popularity and eventually led to a long-term relationship with the Food Network, hosting shows such as "Tasty Travels," "$40 a Day," "Inside Dish," and "30-Minute Meals."

"My life has been a total accident -- a very happy, wonderful accident that I didn't and couldn't have planned," says Ray. Despite her growing celebrity she is determined to stay grounded and hold on to her down-to-earth values.

NANA from TENNESSEE	5.0 9/25/2011 LOVE IT!!!! I HAVE ALL RACHEL RAY PRODUCTS AND I LOVE THEM ALL. I HAVE THE WHOLE HARD IDONIZED PAN SET IN ORANGE AND THEY ARE GREAT! I ALSO HAVE ALL OF HER SPOONS, SPATULAS, TONGS, AND PIZZA CUTTER. THEY ARE ALSO GREAT EXCEPT FOR HER NAME THAT IS WRITTEN ON THEM IS FADING OFF WHEN WASHED. The only real complaint I have is that the lid does steam over to the point you cannot see the food cooking. Which indicates that you can both on the package & the website. They clean well and love the deepness of the pots. Have one issue, don't know that its a problem. The one lid has allowed steam under the rim and the lid looks steamed but only on the edge under the metal trim. Will see if it dries out. Other than that , fantastico!! Was this helpful? Yes / No

The hard-anodized cookware is durable and cooks evenly! The 8-quart size makes it large enough for any job, from a 1-lb box of pasta to a group-sized pot of chili! The oval size really IS a handy thing! It fits well on my stove, and I finally have a pot that will fit my summer corn on the cob! If you're hesitating on the price, don't!
