Works, but has some design flaws
DJDMC from TX – Verified Buyer
The "flat-back" design isn't really effective. When the barrel fills up with water, the back swells out. This causes the barrel to push (about 2 inches) away from the wall. It's best to set the barrel 3 inches from the wall. This swelling also causes the rectangular filter opening (on top) to warp. During a heavy rainfall, the overflow spout cant handle all the water. Thus, water just pools on the top of the barrel and pours over the side. Be careful installing the spigot. Instructions say to lay the barrel on it's back (to make it easier). I did that but the spigot still didn't go in flush. Once the barrel filled with water, the spigot leaked. I had to apply a waterproof sealant to the threading to stop the leak.
BETTER THAN EXPECTED!

This is a great product! We live in CA and are in the 4th yr of a drought. We have buckets to save indoor and outdoor shower water while it's heating up, etc. We would take the bucket into the yard and water different plants. Now, we just pour the buckets into the barrel and use the spigot to fill watering cans. BTW, my husband built the stand for the barrel, as well as a cover, so we can just dump the bucket right outside our bedroom deck. Suggest you purchase or build a stand to suit your needs because "stuff" can sift into the barrel through the screen and maybe even mosquitos might like it. It is similar to the color of the wall behind it so it is perfect. May paint it with house paint though. Probably will order another one! Pros: attractive, functional, Cons: Could include a small cover for the screen opening, but anything would work to cover it.
Works as advertised but not using as advertised

It looks nice and seems well made. But I don't need a rain barrel where I live even though I'm in an area in an extreme drought. That's because during the rainy season I never water the yard and the rest of the year it never rains. So it would only collect 50 gallons per year of usable water. I'm using it to temporarily hold the output of the washing machine instead. The washer runs year round. The tap is always open to a hose that's moved around the yard. The problem I've encountered is that the screen on top is too fine, and clogged on the first washing. And when I removed the entire screen, the tap clogged after a few washings. The problem is that the diameter of the tap's hole for water is quite small. I think that I've solved the problem by cutting out the screen in the top and replacing it with a huge net that hangs into the barrel. That should allow the collection of a large amount of lint before clogging. It hasn't clogged yet, but it's only been a few weeks.

I have 9 rain barrels around my property. While I've tried different types, I keep coming back to this one. It's reasonably attractive, given the options, and I really like the fact that it has a flat back that allows you to place the barrel close against a wall. The brass spigot is of good quality (sometimes these are plastic), and the top screen fit snugly.

I was definitely concerned about this barrel bowing out in the back based on what other reviewers said. However I have not experienced any warping whatsoever despite my barrel have been filled completely up and drained several times. It also looks great on the patio.
Leaks when full
Jennifer from Richmond, VA – Verified Buyer
I was so excited to receive and setup my rain barrel and collector stand. I was then very disappointed to discover after week 3 that the very cute product leaked (against my house) from both the spicket and the bottom seam of this plastic item. Apparently, it can not handle the volume/weight of the water it is supposed to store. We went on vacation (and then a funeral) two days after setting it out. When we returned it was more than 2/3s full and leaking in both areas. We will attempt to repair it ourselves, since we do not have time (or the box) to meet the 30-day return window. So sad.

Nice touch with a textured facade. A bit more highbrow than your typical stamped out plastic or fake looking rain barrels.
Works great, but be careful setting up.

Barrel looks and performs like expected. Only issue is inserting the brass spigot into the tapped plastic hole - I tried being careful, retried probably 10+ time - and still stripped the threads. Everything else with it is great. Pros: Nice capacity and easy set up Cons: Brass spigot will easily strip out plastic threads in barrel.
Exactly as advertised

We ordered two of these barrels. They arrived quickly and in good condition. The product is exactly as it is advertised. We're waiting for the first rainfall to arrive so we can catch some free water!
Sturdy product for a smaller area.

We needed a rain container for our deck, and this one is perfect to set up under the gutter in the corner of the deck. The dark brown color blends with our home, Set up was simple. Pros: Easy set up Cons: None
