This spa is the best i have ever had. The smallest ( 150 gal )and takes up very little space. It is just a great 2 person spa.

Nice, but needs small improvements

I purchased this hot tub from Wayfair through Amazon and the shipping time and price was superb. The following is the review I posted at Amazon. I have used the hot tub for four days so this review is my first impression and obviously subject to change. It is really a shame that several changes/improvements that many other reviewers at other sites have mentioned have not been made to the hot tub. These small but frustrating changes like telling the user where the power cord is located, how to open the access panel and then having a slot/hole for the cord to go outside would cost QCA almost nothing but make the world of difference to the setup of the tub. Also, the size of the access door is too large and is very difficult to remove, especially when the tub is full of water. Granted, users don't have to go into the workings of the tub very often but when we do it should be easy. My second visit behind the access door was to install a QCA Spa/Del Ozone Generator. QCA did have the vacuum tubing labeled, and a plugin for the generator but no place to "install it" so mine is, very unprofessionally, hanging from one of the pipes. Another improvement that has been mentioned by many users online is that the temp indicator is very, very difficult to read during the day. It is facing the outside of the hot tub so one has to read upside down when in the tub. I have several weather/temperature indicators in my house along with several digital clocks all costing, well, very little. So why couldn't QCA use one of these as a model as far as size and readability in the daytime? Heater. Based on many other reviewer's comments about the slow heating ability of the hot tub heater, I purchased a "Farm Innovators Submergible Bucket Heater with Attached Guard Model W-449, 1,000-Watt" heater and along with the hot tub heater, I had 100 degree water within 15 hours. The temp outside was in the 30s and I am using "Pactiv 2-in x 8-ft x 4-ft Extruded Polystyrene Insulated Sheathing" ($33) for a temp hard cover as $300-$400 for a professionally made cover just does not sit well with me right now. As long as I am on the subject of covers, the fitted cover that comes with the hot tub is about one inch thick. If you search for this soft cover online the pictures shown make this cover look several inches thick. I inquired with customer help at some site as to the thickness and I was told it was two inches thick. Back to the water temperature. I like the water temperature at 104 so a couple of hours before use I change the temp from 100 to 104 and I insert the second heater. When I get in the tub I, of course, take out the extra heater. The built in heater does not hold the temp at 104 degrees. Again, it is cold weather, i.e.,30s to 40s here, but it would be nice for the 30 minutes that I am in the tub that the temp remained at 104. This improvement would be the only one that I know of that might actually cost the company a few dollars. Jets, well they are great. Customer service at QCA before purchase, NONE, at least they do not answer email inquiries. Improvement cost, probably nothing. Even though they do have some online brochures for the customer, the information is lacking, really lacking. I had a hot tub many years ago so I know a little bit about the chemical routine that must be done to keep the hot tub water clean and safe. Depending which brand of chemicals used, and even within the same brand, there are many options for the hot tub user. It would have been nice if QCA had gone into some detail as to their recommendations. Granted, it would not have been unbiased but at least it would have been a start, especially for new users which I am not. Speaking of literature, the online literature that QCA has is all generic..ie, it fits all of their hot tubs, not just the QCA Spas 2 Person Duet Oval 10 Jet Spa. Cost for improvement, very little. And speaking of the QCA Spas 2 Person Duet Oval 10 Jet Spa, if you buy this same hot tub from Lowes it is called something different and if you buy it from Home Depot, again, it is called something different. And by the way, their prices are higher than Amazon and their shipping times are much, much longer. And speaking of shipping times, my hot tub was here almost before i ordered it. Well, not quite, but about ten days before the outside date that Amazon said it would be. And the warning I got which said the driver would not help unload the hot tub is, at least for my driver, not true. Bottom line, a nice and I suppose relatively inexpensive hot tub but some small improvements could make this a great little hot tub. Maybe after a longer time of use has elapsed, I might edit this info in some way but for now this is it.

good power in the jets, nice design

The external shell is a bit flimsy, but the functional systems are great. Note: when you first turn it on the jets will run until it reaches temp. In speaking with QCA service, you are supposed to turn down the power of the jets if you need to leave it while it heats. I did not find that in my book.

Love the spa

Spa is great! wish opening instructions were easier...opening panel was mean but figured it out. cord does not fit thru the pre drilld hole. Having trouble finding a hard top, help! Other than initial set up confusion of a couple hours, many hours of enjoyment, worth every penny

Spa should have been better

This QCA SPA seemed perfect on paper to replace our previous 2 person spa - and an excellent value at Wayfair - however, there are a few things other people should note: - getting to the power cord requires unscrewing the access panel and we had to take out some more screws as the panel wouldn't come out, those lowest screws are flush to the ground and a pain to remove - one button to set temp up/down with a max of 104F and it cycles down to 88 before it goes up, no memory, it resets to 100F with every minimal power interruption - two seats are different height by 6" ... high seat too high for short person not to have shoulders sticking out - standard flex cover is just a thin flimsy sheet of vinyl, no insulation layer ... upgrade to a rigid insulating cover is a must - inside cabinet marginal styrofoam insulation layer of 1/2inch around perimeter - ! - in other words this spa is unsustainable to heat if you have any kind of winter and have this outdoors or in an unheated covered space - no filter of any kind, the water goes in a square skimmer ... that's it. Had we known of these shortcomings, we would not have ordered this product. Fortunately Wayfair went above and beyond our expectations in resolving this and making us satisfied customers that will return to Wayfair for other purchases.
