Proman Steamer Trunk Bar Cabinet in Ebony

The item itself is nearly identical to the Crate & Barrel piece but cheaper. Building the bar took several hours and while it wasn't impossible, it is slightly aggravating. When you receive the shipment, it is in 4 huge boxes... takes a while just to unpack and clean up. For my product specifically, I had a few problems -there was a few holes that were not drilled completely correctly, the top bar handle hole was already stripped, the back panel was moldy and the front door is slightly warped. If you are looking for perfection, maybe buy the more expense C&B product.

Thankfully I ordered this product through Wayfair, with an excellent customer serivce culture that resolved all my issues. This cabinet is fairly heavy and adequately built. However, from day one is emitted a very strong chemical odor which would not dissipate, and I worried would affect my family's health. If you google search "furniture off-gassing" you will realize what I am talking about. Proman Products manufactures this piece in China, and it is a knock-off of a Crate and Barrel design. There are other bars at a lower price and probably better quality available through Wayfair - again a great company to work with!

Love the bar. Whoever wrote the instructions had never put the thing together before.
