Progressive International Nut Chopper - GFNC-1

This is a great tool for chopping nuts. I make a lot of vegetarian roasts and they call for a lot of chopped nuts and this does a great job. You can have them coarse or fine and it also measures how much you have chopped. When it comes to cleaning I would recommend washing the top part by hand in warm water, I would not put in dishwasher. This is my second one. The first one lasted over 10 years and I just wore it out.

Something a bit larger, more sturdy and electric would be wonderful. This product is for very small volume.

can this also chop ginger and garlic

This product works much better than it's usual counterpart of a cyclinder that encases the nuts and a plunger that has to be forced down to chop. It is far easier to clean. Seems more sturdy (I've gone through 2 of the others in a year of normal baking.) It is easy to operate as I simply need to turn a handle to chop nuts. It has two selections of fine and medium grinding and a cup that collects the nuts as they are ground.
