This is a good gate. I keep it at the foot of my stairs so my two doxles won't venture onto the second floor of our house. The gate is heavy enough so it stands well on its own and a little knock into it by playing pups won't make it budge. It is also attractive -- solid wood (I think?) with brown plastic/metal details that are masked well by the gate itself -- so it fits in well with my house.
Attractive pet gate.

This is a very attractive pet gate made of all wood. I had to purchase the extension kit to make it large enough for the opening to my living room. I especially like the option of having a walk through gate where you don't have to crawl over the whole gate. I purchased this for a new dog. No dog yet, but the only con I can see is the fact that the gate is not connected to the wall in any way, and might be pushed over by a larger animal. Or maybe nudged enough to make an opening. A puppy probably couldn't do much to it since it is fairly heavy wood.
Love this gate!

My husband and I love all the different ways this gate can be configured. The little non-slip pads on the bottom to help keep it in place are a super nice feature we wouldn't even have thought we wanted.. We have owned this product now for two months and it still looks new. We like the look of it so much it is setup permanently in our home and we use it everyday. Our dogs never question the boundary it creates.

This was absolutely the best purchase I ever made sight unseen. Sturdy and esthetically pleasing. Used an eye hook to attach to the wall and bought an extension kit to form a L-shaped corrall (one side was a wall and the other side was the back door with easy access to the doggy door,so basically it's a rectangle. Fits 3 small dogs comfortably. Oh, and love the swinging door which opens inward or outward. AND my escape artists can't figure out how to climb vertical slats, so I am thrilled with this gate.

Love love love this gate for our two Yorkies. We had been using one of the wire ones that make into a complete pen which was great outside but oh so tacky looking in our home. This wooden gate is simply gorgeous and both my husband and I were thrilled. We use it if we are leaving the house for a few hours or if company comes over so that they are not mauled by these two cuties. The door.............is fabulous for us seniors! No more trying to step over and catch our toes in the top and drag it to the ground as we try not to fall! We call this one a "winner"!!! No assembly required...yeah....perfect out of the box and ready to use!

We did a lot of comparison shopping for a gate that would prevent our Great Danes from "taking-over" a space. They're very friendly and big…guest and family are overwhelmed, sometimes, by their "eagerness." This gate is solid in construction, and the right height for larger dogs. It is very versatile, as it expands to accommodate different door widths, and arrives assembled.

This product is very attractive. Much better than anything I could find in a pet store. We use it to keep the dogs out of the living room. It is the first thing you see when you enter our house. I was worried it would look ugly. But, to the contrary, the color and quality of the gate match well with my maple hardwood floors and the furniture in the living room. The gated entry to the living room actually makes the space seem more special. And it does keep the dogs out when I don't want them in there.
Exactly what I wanted

This is an attractive gate that is long enough to close off the wide entryway between the family room and the rest of the house. Having a gate to use instead of having to move the entire unit is a great plus. I like that you can also configure it to close off a smaller doorway. The only "negative" I've found is that it is kind of wobbly if you try to set it up in a completely straight line. It is very steady as long as you angle at the hinged areas.

We ordered 2 of these after getting a 3 yr old rescue beagle who was not house trained. We have extra wide doorways which these spanned easily. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that the locks are not very secure if you have a dog that jumps against the gate portion as ours did. This was remedied by the use of a bungee cord to secure the gate. I like that with 2 sets we are able to ziplock them together to form a circular pen, if necessary.
nice gate for a bungalow!
Zhoonoh from Columbus, OH– Verified Buyer
This gate looks great and more expensive than its price. The wood is sturdy and matches the interior decor of our bungalow well. Our dog (23 lb doxie jack russell mix) is adequately tricked into thinking he is captive. He hasn't tried pushing the gate or tipping it over. When it came, it had a bit of a greasy feel, but it thankfully didn't get on my clothes. It's treated with a bitter-tasting anti-biting agent. It appears that it made a hinge rust, but it's purely cosmetic and will go away with a bit of mineral oil.
