All pieces are constructed from a combination of high quality, laminated composite woods, with attractive profiled MDF tops and moldings.

Assembly did take some time and patience and my husband actually went through the top of the headboard by hammering too hard on the other side. He filled in pretty well but it was a bummer on a brand new piece of furniture. Instructions don't mention this could happen so be careful when assembling! Drawers work well on nightstand. The nightstand is so small that it is fitted more to a futon or bed on the floor. Every time tighten the screws a piece of the black comes off. Do not recommend at all. It is extremely heavy but extremely poor quality. Would have sent back but way to hard to package back up.
