Better than expected!
Jason from Winona, MN – Verified Buyer
Shipping was fast and product arrived just as described. Although the assembly instructions were very poor (just a parts diagram) assembly was easy enough by myself and took about an hour. Once it was setup everything worked great and actually was smoother than expected. Would by again from this company.
Does exactly what I need it to
Marco from Chicago
The lat machine provides exactly what I need it to. I bought it with realistic expectations and it meets them to the T. I can do all pulldown variations, various tricep extensions, lying bicep curls, lying cable shrugs, etc. There are two things that you should know, you cannot do standing curls, or standing anything that requires any kind of substantial weight without anchoring it with weight on the front part of the machine or it will come up with you during the pull. This can pretty much be alleviated by just doing those moves seated or lying on the floor. I don't mind doing these moves lying down so it's not a big deal for me. The other thing is that if you have any kind of height on you, then the pulldown variations will not allow a full extension at the top. The seat sits too high and is not adjustable. You would have to squat down just under the seat height until you are low enough to get the full extension. Again, I can work through this. Besides that I've been really happy with the machine especially for the price. I would definately recommend it to anyone with realistic expectations. If you think it's going to match up to the quality of a lat machine found at a gym then you are being unrealistic and you will not be happy with it. I hope this review helps.
Lat Machine by Body Solid
BRC from Sioux City IA
Overall a good lat machine. As some of the reviews I read before purchasing this product were correct. I am 6' 4" tall, 200 lbs. I have had to make adjustments in certain areas of the machine to get the full range of motion in certain exercises. IE instead of using the D rings that were sent to connect cable to carriage, cable to cable and cable to bar, I have had to bolt the connections directly together. I will say the welds on the seat base need to be looked at a little closer. The 2nd day I had the machine one of them broke. I have access to fabrication equipment so wasn't a big problem to fix. The last area is the hold down bar is about 2" to short for me one more hole higher would be perfect. Lastly the machine needs a push plate / hold down plate to increase the number of exercises you can preform on this machine. It has a few minor design flaws but for the price you can't go wrong. Like I said great machine for the money.
love this machine.

Easy to assemble and a great upgrade to any home gym. If you only have olympic size plates, then make sure to also buy 2 olympic adaptor sleeves.

Some machines can only be as effective as they are allowed to be by design. But this machine stands above the rest and gives a range of excercises to target all your back muscles effectively. For the price I am sure you cannot find a better bang for the buck in terms of performance and value. Given that club-quality lat machines can easily range from $2k+ You definetly get your money's worth since its still a solid mahcine that allows you to do the same excercises. The only downside is that you need to buy the plates and the olympic adaptor separately. Which is why it allows the price to be so low. Also, I highly recommend a better lat pull down bar anmd a close-grip lat pull down bar to give you a better range of excercises.

This is a very good machine for the money

This is a very good machine for the money. It was very easy to put together compared to some of my other weight equipment. The movement is very smooth. The only issue I have had is when using the low pulley for cable curls with a lot of weight the front lifts up I find this to be minor because I just step on the front of the machine to hold it down and it is fine.

This machine is exactly what we were looking for. It's sturdily made. My husband is 6'1" and it fits him perfectly. For the price, this was a great deal!
