This wooden fruit basket is filled with a piece of watermelon, a banana, a pear – these are cut able. It also includes a half kiwi, cherries and an apple – these are not cut able. To the basket belongs a wooden knife. Our daughter (2 ¼) loves to play with it. She knows exactly what fruit and veggie* she has and what color they have. (*She also has the Veggie Basket Play Food Set.) She can copy what we do – so that’s a perfect toy for her. The good fact is – she is learning to use a knife. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves this set of food. She asked lots of questions regarding why the food was "healthy" which was a good spring board for a healthy eating discussion. She was immediately comfortable with the foods as she eats the equivalent real foods already. She likes to pack a "healthy snack" for daddy every day and uses the bag the food came in as well. I am pleased with the play food and the set makes a nice addition to her play kitchen. The carrot and celery sticks are smaller than I expected. My daughter loves to use this play set to serve Chinese food to her Chinese grandfather and Spanish food to her mom, for example, and amaze her friends with the variety in this set. My son has gained vocabulary while playing with her and we look forward to the new baby enjoying the set also. To the basket belongs a wooden knife. Our daughter (2 ¼) loves to play with it – she is cooking us at least one time per day a veggie soup. (She also has the Cooking Essentials 10 Piece Stainless Steel Set.) She likes to do what we do – so that’s a perfect toy for her and she is learning to use a knife. She asked us why she can’t cut all the veggies and I want to know this too?!
