Having previously purchased a $30 toy garage from a local retailer and throwing it away a short time later because it was made of flimsy plastic and kept coming apart, I found this set online made my KidKraft and KNEW it would be great and the extra money would be worth it. KidKraft makes strong and durable items and that rings true for this garage. It has been a toy that both my 2yr old son and 4yr old daughter play with on a daily basis. It is not overwhelmingly big and can fit on a table or the floor with ease of use. It comes with a lot of cars/pieces for interactive play. Regular hotwheel cars also can work for this. I knew the minute I saw a picture of this toy on line that it was a must have for my four year old twins and I was not wrong. I ordered it close to Christmas and it was Ffed-exed out to me free of charge within two days. It was heavy in the box and I had to open the box in my cellar and lug individual pieces upstairs in three different steps. It is because this is a high quality solid wood toy. The furniture and fire truck and ambulance are wooden too. I cant stress enough what high quality it all is. I followed the directions and put it together myself over two nights after the kids were in bed. The directions are easy to follow. All I needed was a screw driver. On Christmas morning, my sons eyes lit up when he saw this fire house. He was drawn to it before anything else and started to play immediately with it an had to be redirected finally to open the other presents. My twins play with it daily. It is something we will keep for a long time and my kids will proudly pass down to their children one day. I hope to order my children the Kidkraft construction set for their birthday. My son LOVES anything to do with trains and cars so I thought this would be perfect for him. He plays with them nonstop, but then leaves a mess everywhere. With this, he not only plays but can then store his trains and cars in there afterward. I was surprised at how sturdy it was, and easy to fold into a box. Although, it was a bit difficult for my 4 year old at first. That's the one thing I didn't like so much. To zipper it up, you had to fold the corners inward and hold it in place. Easy for me, but it took him a while to get the hang of it. What I did like about it was it's sturdiness. It really comes in handy when we go over to visit relatives. My son always takes toys with him so not only does he store his trains and cars in there to take, but he adds a few other things in there as well.
