Play Kitchen Sets

I bought this play kitchen for my three youngest children, ages 4, 2 & 10 months. This was a birthday present for the oldest who is a boy, so I didn't want the kitchen to be too feminine. I was originally looking at the Pottery Barn Kids small kitchen set in brown and silver, but it came in three pieces and was over $200 per piece. Luckily they were out of stock and I found this one. This kitchen is just adorable in the robin egg blue color. My kids just love it. It came in a box with about 200 pieces, but I was able to put it together by myself in about 2 hours with three kids interrupting me and eating styrofoam. All the hardware is well organized and easy to identify and the directions are pretty clear. It seems sturdy and went together well. My kids are pretty rough on their toys and we have had this for over a month with no problems. This is a compact kitchen with all the bells and whistles. We bought this kitchen for my 2 y/o daughter and 4 1/2 y/o son...they both love it! It's the perfect size both in length and height and I know it will be enjoyed for many years to come. I had been searching for a dark wood kitchen and almost bought another that was much smaller in size and scale...I'm thrilled I waited as this kitchen is fabulous. We have a more modern home, so it fits in well and has many realistic features the kids adore. I also love all the space it has for pots/pans, play food etc. The quality of the wood is good. The kitchen did, however, come w/ 2 parts where the finish was warped or stained poorly. I made a call to Guidecraft and 2 days later, we had the replacement parts we needed. So, be sure to check all the parts upon opening...Guidecraft's customer service was excellent and the # is listed on the front page of the directions. The kitchen was very time consuming to put together and will definitely require 2 people, but it's well worth the time! Overall, we love this kitchen and would highly recommend it."..."  Read more

I began researching kitchens on line after my 2 nieces got kitchens for xmas and my little 2 year old daughter loved playing in them. Once I saw this kitchen I was completely hooked and would not settle for anything else.[...]at a great price too! [...] This kitchen was a birthday present for my daughter[...] in the end I'm so glad that I didn't settle for something else. I bought this kitchen for my 2 year old little girl, but my 2 boys aged 4 and 6 play with it as well. This kitchen is very well made and the quality is excellent. There were some minor scuffs and scratches on it but I figured in a few weeks my kids will eventually have scratched it up anyways. The kitchen is very cute and has lots of storage space. The kitchen took about 3-4 hours to put together, but I spent about an hour sorting out the pieces and the hardware. I also put most of it together by myself, my husband helped at the end, which is why it may have taken so long. I was also very careful and took my time because I wanted to make sure everything was perfect. The instructions were great and very easy to follow. [...]All of the hardware was also lettered and sorted, but they were not actually labelled correctly. I reorganized everything before I started which made putting it together a lot easier. All of the pieces are also clearly labelled and putting it together was actually quite fun. Everything lined up the way it should, from the predrilled holes, to the shelves and doors. In the end I would definitely recommend this kitchen! It is so cute and is exactly like the picture. I can see my daughter playing with this kitchen for years! My son had a lot of fun exploring the Food Groups Play set. The set came with 4 wooden crates with a different food group in every crate- Dairy, Fruits/Veggies, Protein/Meat and Grain. My son loves to manipulate small pieces and as he picked the different foods up, I would tell him what it is. He is just learning to talk and repeat words so he started to identify some of the food. This play set offers many fun learning activities with pretend food. I can just imagine us playing "store" with these cute imitations of food in later years!
