We bought this kitchen for my 2 y/o daughter and 4 1/2 y/o son...they both love it! It's the perfect size both in length and height and I know it will be enjoyed for many years to come. I had been searching for a dark wood kitchen and almost bought another that was much smaller in size and scale...I'm thrilled I waited as this kitchen is fabulous. We have a more modern home, so it fits in well and has many realistic features the kids adore. I also love all the space it has for pots/pans, play food etc. The quality of the wood is good. The kitchen did, however, come w/ 2 parts where the finish was warped or stained poorly. I made a call to Guidecraft and 2 days later, we had the replacement parts we needed. So, be sure to check all the parts upon opening...Guidecraft's customer service was excellent and the # is listed on the front page of the directions. The kitchen was very time consuming to put together and will definitely require 2 people, but it's well worth the time! Overall, we love this kitchen and would highly recommend it."..."  Read more

My son had a lot of fun exploring the Food Groups Play set. The set came with 4 wooden crates with a different food group in every crate- Dairy, Fruits/Veggies, Protein/Meat and Grain. My son loves to manipulate small pieces and as he picked the different foods up, I would tell him what it is. He is just learning to talk and repeat words so he started to identify some of the food. This play set offers many fun learning activities with pretend food. I can just imagine us playing "store" with these cute imitations of food in later years! I purchased this for my son's 2nd birthday. I got a lot of resistance from my husband on buying our son a kitchen because he is a boy. After we got it and he seen our son playing with it, my husband was glad I was persistent. I spent three weeks going to different stores and reading reviews before I made a decision on this kitchen. This kitchen has everything that most of the other kitchens have. I originally wanted the larger model kitchen, however, I am glad that I got this one because it has everything. I was focused on making sure all of the appliances were there, microwave, stove, sink, oven, refrigerator, etc. The only thing missing is the dishwasher. The green countertop gives the appearance that this kitchen is not only for little girls. Having this kitchen set at his young age, gives us the chance to really teach him all of the food groups and how mommy and daddy cook prepare meals.
