The Stamina AeroPilates Reformer with Rebounder is a decent product. I can appreciate what other reviewers mentioned - if you are taller than 'average', exercises on the machine would be limited as you can't adjust the reformer for your height. If you are very strong, this machine (at least with the 4 black cords provided) would be far too easy to use. It's perfect for my needs. I have a treadmill and weights and wanted to include something in my weekly workouts that would help with my core. I find that I could use more resistance on my legs but with greater reps, I really start to feel it in my arms and abdominals. StaminaStamina Aero Pilates Pro XP 556

I instantly fell in love with pilates, after taking group reformer classes for about 3 months. However, classes are very expensive, so I thought it was time to investigate buying my own reformer.
I read a ton of reviews and felt that the Stamina XP556 received the best reviews. The pilates studio I belong to uses the Stott reformer (which is a very stable machine), but it was considerably more expensive and didn't include a "cardio rebounder" attachment.
The Stamina unit is very stable....not quite as stable as the Stott, but for the price, you can't beat it. It has a smooth glide and is so fun to use....I'm already feeling much stronger and more toned from using it daily. The cords seem a little uneven, so I need to figure out how to fix that.
I would recommend taking several group classes first -- getting used to being on a reformer and developing the proper form. But once you become familiar with the exercises...and if you have room in your house for a reformer, then it's basically a no-brainer. It's a great investment (will pay for itself in a couple months) and also a joy to use. I actually look forward to my workouts now.

STOTT PILATESSTOTT PILATES SPX Reformer for Home with Box

I am disabled due to a problem with my joints (started when I was 36). I look like everyone else, but have trouble doing anything that requires joint movement, pushing pulling, lifting anything above, say 20 lbs. With this machine I am able to build and stretch muscles and ligaments without damaging my joints.
I am stronger, can do more, and with Pilates everyday, I find I am starting to use their principles in my daily life - how to lift, move, etc. - and I have so much greater range of motion! I have to watch out now, because I automatically go to do things I would never have tried before (knowing I would be injured)!
Anyone with arthritis, other joint problems, don't hesitate - this makes a great deal of difference in your health.
