Other diner trays we purchased simply got grimy and were pushed across the floor (spilling all their water bowls!) by my excited eaters. These sturdy feeders are heavy enough to stay put, and don't have any surfaces for dirt and grime to gather. The tray stays clean! I would recommend this to anyone with a messy eater! It stays put as he noses his food. I did have to put bumpers between the bowl & the stand, because he was afraid of the noise of metal hitting metal. Having a German Shepherd and a thirsty Boxer in the house, the standard size bowls aren't big enough, fortunately the 'large' size accommodates a previously purchased bucket.
