very large crate and nice to use. I really like the large front door access due to my dog having to be crated for surgery after tearing his ACL. The top panel was also nice so I could give him water and treats without him wanting to escape. He hated it but I really liked it compared to your standard crate. It was nice to wheel around but the front clips are plastic and very easy to break, that my dog didn't mind though!

Customer service is outstanding, ordered a crate, ended up having to send it back. got my money back quickly. So I turned around and got the the same crate, just bigger. This crate is built strong, love it
Almost Perfect for the Big Pups

I love this crate in many ways but I think the main door is a hazard.
Best Dog Crate on the Market

Otis, my 65lb English bulldog had outgrown his crate. His previous crate was your typical wire crate with a flimsy removable tray. Because of his compact but stout build, the flimsy tray had to be replaced a couple of times a year due to cracking where the tray rested on the bottom wires of the crate. This got to very expensive so when it was time for a larger crate I started looking for something more durable. The Pet Gear crates are the only ones I found with a blow molded base. It is far superior to the flimsy trays in other crates. Not only does it stand up to Otis but I also don't have to worry about my hardwood floors getting scratched like I did with a wire bottom crate. It did take about a week for him to get used to the sound of the garage door opening and closing. It can make a lot of noise if you don't slide it in & out gently. This is by far the most durable crate on the market.
Very Happy Customer!

I purchased the older model crate from same manufacturer, Pet Gear, and loved the large slide-up garage door feature. The parts were all plastic and broke easily, and I discovered on-line this happened to many customers. This model is taller which is nice, and the side door is much more sufficient. The door folds up and in (much like a garage door) and out of the way during the day. The whole crate is open and the dogs choose to play and nap there during the day because it's their "space". It was much less expensive than the other model and well worth the money. I've been thinking about buying another for my other dog who has to have his "garage door" bungee corded during the night. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to provide an affordable, safe and comfortable bed for their large dog. (Mine is 90 pounds and has room to spare in the large model!)
I highly recommend this crate.

I bought this crate to provide a safe and comforting environment for my dog to recover in after she herniated a disc. The feature that attracted me the most was the ability to open a door in the "roof" of the crate. This allowed me to safely get her in and out of the crate while she still had stitches. We now use the crate's "garage door" for entry and exit, although I still use the roof door to give treats, water, etc. and to comfort her at night. I love the garage door because it stores out of the way. I also love the wheels and the handle because it makes it so easy to move the crate from one room to another. The plastic wheels and base are easy on my bamboo floors. I do wish it was a bit lighter, but I appreciate its sturdiness, too. I belong to Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue and have already started recommending it to adopters and fellow rescuers.
I love this crate!

This is my second one, the first I bought as a travel crate, but use it all the time. I just bought a second in a larger size for home use. It's the best!

Good product, it's easy to get my dog in and out of. He seems to like the bigger door. Easy to assemble, not too heavy and good quality.

Clear assembly directions made setup a breeze. Once I got through the packaging, the crate was put together in just a few minutes. Garage-style side door makes for more convenient placement; I can leave the door open without banging into it. Door opens and closes smoothly, although one wire did pop up slightly, forcing me to have to tilt the door a bit to open it. (I suspect my preschooler may have had something to do with the defect.) Latches secure without struggle. Handle and rollers make it easy to move around. I have a larger-sized dog, so a front door option would probably have been more useful than the top door option that it comes with, but overall this is a great crate for the money.
