My pug absolutely loves these stairs. He was already used to having a small foam block that he would jump up on to get to the bed so there was no need to train him on how to use the stairs. He took one look and hopped right up. He gets on and off so easily and I don't have to worry about him jumping from a high distance and hurting his joints. The stairs were so easy to assemble right out of the box and I find them to be solid and sturdy. I like the no-slip, removable foot pads and the rubber foot pads. The Pet Gear Pet Stairs have been with us for a little over a week - and our two dogs (one tiny and one medium) are routinely using them to get on and off of their favorite place in our house: our bed! The steps are especially welcome at night, since they save us from having to get up and let the dogs down (and get 'em back up) for a drink of water or a nocturnal potty call. One really nice feature, which doesn't come through clearly in the photos, is that the carpeted portions of the step are angled slightly (lower at the leading edge and higher at the back), so it's easier for the pooches to maintain a smooth flow and keep their balance - without scraping their bellies on the steps' edges. I bought the stairs for my sister's terrier. He is 13 years old and has some trouble getting up on the bed these days. Also they use the stairs for him to get in the car and to look out the window.
