I used this carrier (the medium size) to bring my cat on the plane when moving cross-country, and it was great. It's lightweight, the side pocket allows enough room for a few essentials like treats, food and brush, and my cat seemed to like the comfy liner in the bottom of the bag. Top and side zipper openings give you a few different options for putting your pet into the bag, and the rigidity of the end panels of the bag keep it from sagging in the middle as some other Sherpa models do. The mesh panels gave the cat the ability to see what was going on, but the one solid side allowed me to turn the bag to shield the cat from being seen by traveling dogs or anything else that might scare him.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that these end panels provide most of the bag's structure, such that if you unzip one of the ends to load your pet, the bag does sag a little in the middle until the end is zipped back up. But this is a minor issue - it doesn't sag too much as long as the other end panel is still zipped to the body. Also, the fact that the center area is collapsible is what allows the bag to fold very flat for easy storage - to store, just unzip both ends, fold down the center part of the bag, fold the end panels on top of the center of the bag and clip them together with the shoulder strap.
Overall, this is a nice lightweight carrier that has a better design than some older Sherpa carriers. I'd recommend it."..." Read more
