Snoozer Wheel Around Travel Pet Carrier in Khaki Snoozer Pet Products
Snoozer Wheel Around Travel Pet Carrier in Khaki

We decided to take our puppy home for the holidays and got quite nervous after reading reviews about southwest airlines not allowing pets onto the plane at the last minute. Some Sherpa carriers are guaranteed onboard, but not with Southwest. The dimensions for southwest are a bit unusual, having a 9" height clearance maximum. The dog also has to be able to stand up and turn around in the carrier. Many carrier descriptions included either interior or exterior dimensions, so you really did not know if you met all the criteria without trying it out. So, after MUCH reading and shopping, I ended up buying 6 carriers so that I could get southwest's blessing. I ordered the snoozer wheel around, the pet 2 go escort and traveler, and the Sherpa sport from Wayfair[...]. Realizing this was not going to happen, we went to 2 local pet stores and bought the dog whisperer tote and the outward hound carrier on wheels. Other than the dog whisperer, everything I purchased SEEMED to have the same features…. On wheels with pull out luggage handle, converting to a car seat and backpack. My dog, a 15 pound miniature American Eskimo, hated the dog whisperer… and liked the outward hound a bit more. (he really hated the whole thought of the enclosures, so we also got some ACE from the vet to calm him down… great idea!!). We took our dog and the Outward Hound carrier to southwest and they did not approve of it, for it was really short and he seemed squished … They recommended we buy the southwest bag, ok, our 7th bag purchase.... I have to say, the southwest bag is quite wide…. But doesn't have all the cool conversions as I was seeking… it is just a "box" that does not even stand up on it's own (no structure) When we returned home from our trip, we received the other carriers from Wayfair, and set them all up in a row…. We loved the snoozer the best of all the 7 bags we ended up purchasing. It has a lot of mesh for him to completely see out of, it is tall enough for him to stand up in, and has a central support to hold the top rigid. The bag's hard bottom even comes off in case the airline has low seating. He seems to actually LIKE getting into this bag, and we use it in the car where he is typically very nervous, and it seems to calm him down….The backpack is VERY comfortable, and he seems very comfortable in this bag… even the floor is nicely padded from the luggage carrier…. I am very pleased with this purchase![...] But I am stuck with the southwest bag."..." Read more

Sherpa Ultimate On-Wheels Pet Carrier in Black Sherpa

It is versatile with two different straps, three different entry ways, side and top ! There's plenty ventilation provided because of the unique side flaps which can be rolled up and held in place with straps. Most of all, I love the wheels, and with the long strap, it makes it so easy to wheel your pet along with you as you walk. It could almost serve as a pet stroller ! I use this carrier to take my cat to the vet ! It is so much easier to take my cat out from my car in the parking lot and into the Vet clinic with this carrier. I can open the door with one hand while wheeling my cat along with the other hand. My cat is a quite a large heavy cat. The top entry makes it easier to put her in it. This carrier made my life much easier. So many strangers have come up to me asking where I got this carrier from. I tell them to google "Wayfair" and "the Sherpa.""..." Read more

One of my three cats HATES standard hard-sided carriers and completely freaks out whenever I have to get her into one. No matter what kind of training or acclimation tools I tried (leaving the plastic carrier around with the top off and comfortable bedding inside, spraying with "happy cat" pheromones, etc.), she wouldn't go near it. Although it took a while with the I-GO2, I have caught this cat napping inside and looking very comfortable. I'm looking forward to seeing how she feels when the screen is zipped up. About the product itself: It's very well made, has plenty of room for any of my cats, who weigh between 7 1/2 and 8 1/2 pounds and fit easily into a standard 11 1/2" H by 19 1/2" L plastic carrier. It's awesome that they can sit up in the I-GO2 and look around (something they can't do in hard-sided carriers) and that they can also lie down for a nap. The expandable sides leave extra room for longer cats to have a comfortable nap. The fact that you can buckle this carrier into a car's seat belt, carry it as a backpack, and roll it like carry-on luggage make this product very convenient for any usage. I'm quite sure this carrier wouldn't fit under the seat in an airplane cabin, but this isn't a problem for me because I have no intention of flying with my cats. But if you're planning to do so, you'll probably want to consider a soft-sided carrier that's shaped more like a traditional carrier."..." Read more

I used this carrier (the medium size) to bring my cat on the plane when moving cross-country, and it was great. It's lightweight, the side pocket allows enough room for a few essentials like treats, food and brush, and my cat seemed to like the comfy liner in the bottom of the bag. Top and side zipper openings give you a few different options for putting your pet into the bag, and the rigidity of the end panels of the bag keep it from sagging in the middle as some other Sherpa models do. The mesh panels gave the cat the ability to see what was going on, but the one solid side allowed me to turn the bag to shield the cat from being seen by traveling dogs or anything else that might scare him. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that these end panels provide most of the bag's structure, such that if you unzip one of the ends to load your pet, the bag does sag a little in the middle until the end is zipped back up. But this is a minor issue - it doesn't sag too much as long as the other end panel is still zipped to the body. Also, the fact that the center area is collapsible is what allows the bag to fold very flat for easy storage - to store, just unzip both ends, fold down the center part of the bag, fold the end panels on top of the center of the bag and clip them together with the shoulder strap. Overall, this is a nice lightweight carrier that has a better design than some older Sherpa carriers. I'd recommend it."..." Read more
