This is a great pet carrier! It is well made and doesn't look cheap at all. It's practical being made with waterproof materials. There is a very nice sheep skin type removeable pad on the bottom of the inside. It does not look like a pet carrier at all, and you cannot tell there is a dog inside. The mesh sides do not open to allow your dog to stick it's head out, but there is plenty of ventilation. I ordered the small bag and have a 3 1/2 lb dog who fits comfortably. She is able to stand, turn around, as well as lay down. I would say the bag should accomodate up to a 5-6 lb dog. I am 5'2'' and the bag is not bulky nor heavy to carry. This carrier is much more attractive than I had expected. The joined straps at the carrying handle ensure that one handle cannot slip from your grasp sending your pet flying to the ground. The carrier is slightly heavier than I expected; however, that is due to the well cushioned sides. I only wish that the carrier had been available in a large size. I have a Papillon who had knee surgery and a larger carrier would allow her to stretch out fully. That said, I am very pleased with this purchase and if it becomes available in a larger size, I will purchase that as well. It will be perfect for longer trips and give my little treasure a safe place to relax. The size that I purchased is great for taking my little one shopping. Generally, the stores don't mind my dog in her carrier and it fits securely in the child seat of a shopping cart. I was looking for something more of a "stealth" nature that would allow me to carry my 5.5 pound papillon undetected. Unfortunately, this bag is not it, but as a convenient and comfortable carrier for a small dog it is just fine. It is easy and comfortable to carry, and is airy and does not squeeze the dog onto too small a space.
