Bought this carrier primarily for airline travel. I have a relatively tall rescued 10 lb. dog that takes up the entire height of the carrier. But once on the airline and the carrier is laid down and under the seat, theres plenty of room, especially with the expandable zip-out sides. While in the airport, I can carry my dog back-pack style or pull him. I have been stopped numerous times by people asking me where I bought such a functional pet carrier. These carriers are great for short trips, including visits to the vet, etc. Because you can open them either at the top or at the end, you have a choice as to how you will get your pet inside. For example, the top opening is great for getting reluctant cats inside, but the opening on the end is good for dogs, who can just walk right in. The carrier is lightweight but sturdy, easy to carry, and easy to get in and out of a car. The only thing I have found is that even the largest carrier isn't quite tall enough. My cat is quite big and has long legs. He can stand when he's in the carrier, but only if he keeps his head level with his body. There is not enough headroom for him to hold his head up normally. Lying down he is fine....plenty of room then, but I probably would not use this carrier on a long trip for a pet at the larger end of the recommended limits."..."  Read more

I have a fairly large (16 lb) cat and with a hard-side carrier, it's so heavy to carry! This carrier is SO much lighter, even if I don't wheel it. Yes, his head touches the top of the carrier if he's sitting up, but he likes to curl up and sleep in this carrier as I have it open and available for him, so the closeness doesn't appear to bother him. I don't think that keeping him in there for a long trip would be very comfortable but for short trips, it's fine. Cats generally seem to like small enclosed spaces, still, it would be nice if it were slightly taller. There is an extra black stiff part in the bag and it was confusing as to how to position this inside the carrier (I have the two sides of the carrier expanded) as there were no directions regarding it. The short side of this piece folds under and it's positioned under the larger section - forming a "Z" on one end - so the bottom is covered from edge to edge with this piece - then the velcro strips go over it to hold it down, finally the thin pad goes on top of that) There are a couple of extra storage pockets that are very handy and the mesh screen on the front rolls down and is held in place with another bit of velcro. Wheels move smoothly. Compared to other carriers out there, this is a good alternative."..."  Read more

This is a sturdy carrier that's a practical size and my dog seems to like it just fine (incidentally, if I leave it sitting out, the cats won't stay out of it either). In the picture it's not clear that you can only load the pet into the top, and I wanted one where I could just let my dog walk in at-will. The side zipper housed a storage compartment that I didn't need, so I just cut out the inner material that made the pocket, and now it loads on the side and top. I didn't give this the full 5 stars because it's not the most stylish carrier and I prefer a carrier where my dog is incognito, but most of the bags that focus more on style don't have adequate ventilation in my opinion, so this was a good alternative."..."  Read more
