Our 11 # Havanese fits well in the carrier, which we use when he flys with us, which is often. He can stand up and move around, and he has plenty of area to look out and get air. We are able to place the carrier long ways almost completely under the middle seat on airplane. It won't go all the way due to the seat configuration, but no one has complained. The carrier is stylish which is a bonus, but that it is sturdy is the real win. The size is also as compact as I think it can be and still accommodate our sized dog. Only complaints: It is difficult to close the snaps on the handles; when not using the strap, there is no way to affix it to something so it does not hang down; one more, larger pocket would be helpful, perhaps behind the two small patch pockets."..."  Read more

This bag exceeded my expectations. It is really very attractive in person and does a nice job of merging the comfort and utility of the classic Sherpa brand travel bag with the style of a purse style carrier that would be unsuitable for air travel. It had quality construction, a wide area for the pet the curl up in, but is shorter than a classic sherpa. This worked for me because that bag was a bit too long and hanging out under my feet while in flight. It also went under the seat a bit better than the regular Sherpa. I will still keep the Sherpa deluxe for a long flight in case she really wants to stretch out a she is a long dog, but this worked great, and looked so chic with my brown and tan coated canvas duffel."..."  Read more

I was very pleased with the carrier. I bought is a gift so I cannot attest to its durability, however it scored in the looks department. It appears to be well-made so to withstand reasonable wear and tear. (the doggie in question, or in the bag rather is a 10lbs min-pin) Although the specs state that it could withstand up to 25lbs in weight, I just don't see how a dog of that size could fit in the bag or why you would want to carry it around frankly. The only drawback is that the mesh-end of the carrier doesn't have a "close" feature, therefore giving no option of providing privacy when desired. That would be my only suggestion for improvement.
