We use the umbrella at our raised deck at our inground pool. It provides a great amount of shade. We love the colour and the look. It matches our outdoor patio furniture. Two items we are a little unsure about. On windy days we found the umbrella really sways. We realized right away that part of the problem is we need to get a heavier table, as the umbrella is quite top heavy and even with the weighted stand underneath the table, the umbrella was actually moving the table across the deck! We solved this problem by tying down the corners of the umbrella loosely to the surrounding fencing around the deck. Also, we are nervous about the cord snapping when opening the umbrella, at the very end of the opening process. The tension on the cord is very tight. I've had my umbrella for about a month and couldn't be more pleased. We've have some very unusual weather for Summer time with high winds and excessive heavy rain storms. I assembled my umbrella into my patio dining set the day I received it. It has been fully opened since the day I got it. I have not once closed it. (I didn't even have it on a base for the first few days.) This umbrella withstands the weather wonderfully!! The air flows right thru it as they claim yet it blocks the sun and provides great shade. Just remember you don't get the full 100% blockage but it does provide the 90 something percent blockage, I'm sure. There is a noticeable temp difference from the deck surface in direct sunlight vs the shaded deck under the umbrella. There is a very minimal diffused sunlight that does get through but this is what I wanted. (I have a pergola w/ shade cloth fabric just the same.)This umbrella has been stable in all ways through the elements. Great w/ wind, dries very quickly, provides cool shade/diffused light. I am VERY pleased and feel I have gotten my money's worth already."..."  Read more

I have this umbrella on our west facing back patio and purchased it specifically for the tilt feature. The rotational tilt is great - simply turn the umbrella top clockwise to block the sun. Love the pulley feature - makes it easy to open and the brass at the bottom of the pole should extend the life of the umbrella in wet conditions. I chose the navy sunacrylic fabric and it seems like a quality fabric so far- great color and thickness. No need to pay extra for Sunbrella, I think. I'm using it with a 60 lb stand and it's very stable unless a high wind hits it while it's tilted then it's just like a sail and becomes unsteady, but that's to be expected. Can't give it 5 stars because I don't know how well it will wear yet, but it looks and performs wonderfully so far. I would recommend this umbrella."..."  Read more

We use this umbrella on our patio for a large table. It provides excellent sun coverage. The Sunbrella material is always of excellent quality. The downside to this umbrella is that it catches gusts of wind, similar to that of a sail. I think this may be because of its size though. Also, the stand that is sold with it is heavy duty, but the knob for holding the umbrella in place is not sturdy and the bolt has broken through the plastic so that it doesn't hold anymore (2 weeks after purchase)."..."  Read more
