Patina Products Evening Sky Fire Pit

This firepit is exactly what all of the other reviews stated. Well made and a lot of fun. It was a great experience for the grandkids roasting marshmallows and soon we'll try hot dogs on the provided grate. Great purchase and exactly what we were looking for. Love the cut out shapes also.

The fire pit was a nice addition to our party and also for family cookouts. It was very easy to assemble. It seems fairly weatherproof and comes with a cover, but I put it in a shed for the winter.

It's appearance is striking. We use it for enjoyment and entertainment in the evenings. Great for kids roasting marshmallows and hot dogs.

This fire pit comes with everything you need as part of the package. In addition to the pit itself, its comes with a dome shaped screen lid so you can safely leave the fire when you go to bed at night. It also has a weather cover for keeping the rain out in between uses. Plus it has a grill that's made to fit, so you can cook food over the fire -- and let me tell you, if you've never had a steak cooked over wood fire/coals, you've never had a steak. This pit even comes with a steel poker for stirring the fire. Like I said, the complete package! But all these inclusions don't mean a thing if the fire pit fails to work well for building fires. Right? Well no worries in this department. This pit has deep ventilated side walls, so you can safely build a roaring fire. Big fires are our favorite! We also like how this pit is lower to the ground than some others we've seen, so you can easily converse with your friends on all sides of the fire. We even like the welded ring that surrounds the top. It provide a little bit of extra safety, and it makes a convenient anchor point for your stick when roasting marshmallows to perfection... it's handy for moving the pit between uses too. We like the rugged good looks of this pit in our back yard. Everytime we have friends over, they compliment us on our fire pit! It looks good, works well, and it's ready to go right out of the box -- no assembly required. This fire pit is extremely well built, but if we ever manage to wear it out, I'm buying the same one again. Highly recommended!

I wanted a fire pit for backyard use, making s'mores and entertaining. Researching this type of fire pit on the internet can be confusing, since the photos all look very similar. After reading reviews, downloading assembly manuals and contacting manufacturers, I settled on the one by Patina Products. I selected this one because it is completely welded together requiring no assembly, and the finish is a patina rather than a paint. I didn't want to deal with nuts and bolts loosening over time, or worrying about the paint if the fire gets really hot. Other manufacturers recommend adding five pounds of sand to the bottom of their kettle before use, probably to protect the nuts and bolts protruding through the bottom that hold on the legs. The rep at Patina Products did not recommend adding sand with their kettle. The patina (rust) finish arrives a sort of orange color, but deepens to a reddish hue over time as the metal heats up with the fire. Some of the finish may come off on your hands while handling the fire kettle. The decorative cutouts on the side ventilate the fire well and cast a nice glow on the ground. The spark shield, grill and poker are all solidly built and of good quality. The black vinyl cover that comes with the kettle fits perfectly and appears durable and well made. Patina Products also makes different leg extensions if you want to raise the height of your kettle. I bought the 6-inch version just in case and it is also well made. I expect many years of enjoyment from our new fire kettle.
