I have been looking for a cookbook stand for a few years now. Most I've found have been cheaply made and will not hold my favorite cookbook. This stand is PERFECT!! Looks antique and has no problems holding my old 10 1/2" high 16 1/2" wide (when opened) cookbook. The cookbook I use the most is just over 1" thick but I have tried the stand with cookbooks that are a lot thicker and it works great with those too! The chained finials hold the pages open (if needed) but can be put behind the book if they get in the way of your recipe. The Fleur De Lis cut out on the back is beatiful and the heart scroll work on the top adds to its charm!! The "kickout" on the stand does fold in for easy storage.
