Great unit. We used this in a small powder room that gets pretty cold. The dual purpose was just what we were looking for

Compared to all other heater vent units, this one quietly blows them all away! The heater has a short warm up delay and then really heats up the bathroom. The vent is so quiet that you hardly know that it is on. I am about to purchase another one to replace a noisy unit that I had just put in my other bathroom only a couple of years ago.
installed and quiet

The exhaust fan is extremely quiet. We hooked the heater up to a timer so that it comes on 15 minutes before we get up in the mornings to take a shower. The heater is quiet also.

I researched the many bathroom fans and heaters on the internet and decided to go with the Panasonic. We live in the Pacific NW and have lots of moisture to contend with. Our bathroom is small, is in the middle of the house (no windows) and the old vent van is small and couldn't handle the steam build-up from the shower. Plus there was no heat in this bathroom. The Panasonic came very well packed, no dings or damage from delivery. The instructions were very easy to follow and I installed it alone. It was hard at times to keep lifting it overhead on a ladder to make sure all things were lined-up right. I would recommend a helper with this. Take the time to make sure the vent and electrical line up just right if you are replacing or upgrading. This fan is a bit bigger than the small square fans and you have to make sure the joists are there for you when you mount it. Once it was in the difference from the old fan was night and day. There is no steam in the bathroom, it's now nice and warm, and the fanheater are fairly quiet. The fan sits flush against the main body and has a little overhang to hide the rough drywall finish I put in. I recommend this fanheater. If you have the tools and know your way around basic electrical, installation, and finishing you should have few problems.
