I chose this rice cooker for the stainless steel interior over the non-stick options I found everywhere else. So far I have used it to cook Basmati brown rice and Farro which both turned out well....I did use just a little olive oil in the bottom to help keep the rice from sticking and cleanup was not bad at all. Good deal and always quick shipping!

I am happy with this machine. I like the stainless steel insert and it is easy to clean. It cooks the rice just right, which I am particular about as I add different ingredients to the rice before cooking and some machines burn on the bottom. I would recommend this rice cooker.
Good rice cooker

It is a great size, just right. I like the stainless steel bowl and it makes great rice. It is very awkward to clean, inside and out. I would definitely recommend it to a friend telling them about the cleaning.
Nice rice cooker

It was great and works well. It is the perect size. We like that it was steel instead of the non stick coated material which is good thinking of environmental issues and eating healthy. I would suggest to soak the rice before using in the cooker, otherwise the rice will stick to the steel.
Great rice cooker

The Oyama is a light, compact, no frills rice cooker with just 2 modes -- press down to cook, up to warm. Following advice of other reviewers who say that leaving the steamer basket in is the key to preventing any problems with water bubbly or overflow, my rice cooker performs WONDERFULLY. Using the cup that comes with the cooker, 2 cups take about 20 minutes to cook. However, the rice needs to rest in warm mode for about 10 minutes for it to come out nice and fluffy. The first time I served the rice as soon as it completed cooking, it tasted undercooked, i.e., grainy.

I searched for a rice cooker with stainless steel insert and this one is fantastic. Never burns. Rice stays warm for 24 hours. The best rice we have ever eaten. This size feeds our family of 5 and still has left overs or enough for guests. We are so happy with this product.
Multi-functionality, construct, and price a bargain

Unit: stainless steel bowl inside with same composite steamer basket that can hold 16 oz of veggies atop the cooking rice below it. I had mixed in some broiled hamburger once cooking achieved--which took no time at all. No excessive steam eminating from unit like plastic counterparts. Maximum time left on in 'warming' capacity: 36 hrs or else the meat and veggies lose their moistness.
Works for me

Not as easy to clean on a per-use basis as other rice cookers with non-stick bowls, but not too bad. Getting the steamer out of the cooker while it's hot is difficult. It does cook rice faster than my other fuzzy logic Japanese rice cooker.
Just what I wanted

This is just the right size for two people and doesn't take up too much real estate on the countertop. I'm trying out some new whole grains like wheat and quinoa and the cooker makes it easy - just measure and push the start button - don't have to worry about watching the pot so it doesnt burn. Easy to clean.
