The ottoman is just as nice as it looks online and it seems sturdily constructed. The hinge mechanism is nice in that the lid stays open on its own and the lid does not protrude when opened, so the ottoman can be put flat up against a wall or the end of a bed. The buyer should be aware that the color is not actually "white." It is more of a light silvery tannish beige color. Still very neutral, but definitely not white. In the end, we decided that the piece still fits in with our decor and will probably wear better than white would, but the color was not what I was originally expecting.
