We have a smallish living room and have 2 of these that fit in beautifully. We have a 1 year old and a newborn and wanted something durable, attractive, and safe. This met all the criteria! Enough storage inside for our extra blankets and my video games. Cushioned and soft, with no rough edges for a child to cut themselves. The padding continues right around the lid to the inside. The leather is very soft and easy to clean. Stands up to our daughter's sharp little nails. To be honest, the cat does have the ability to leave a scratch in it, but haven't found a product yet he cannot scratch up. Cleans up close to new with some buffing. Definitely sturdy and well made. Can stand or sit on it easily. Sturdy hinge on it. We would buy again in a second. Only downside is the seemed a little expensive, but I think probably worth it when compared to something vinyl or fake"..."  Read more

We bought this piece to serve as a "coffee table" and anchor piece for a small sitting area contiguous with our living room. It served as a perfect balancing object for the two chairs, providing a spot for us to place our magazines and also for extra seating when we have guests. We've also moved it to a family room as an ottoman for a couch. It's a very versatile piece. The wood legs and leather finish continue to look just like new.
