I really got this for the bench and gave the ottomans to a friend because I didn't need them. The ottomans are nice and sturdy and very versatile. The bench was better than I expected. I'd been reading quite a few of reviews on storage benches in this price range being flimsy or poorly made, this was neither. I use it by my front door for shoe storage and someplace to sit when putting on or taking off your shoes. It is perfect for this. I sit on it just about every day and I have no worries whatsoever about it buckling on me, it's like a rock. The hinges hold the door up so you can put things in it without worrying about having to hold it yourself. The surface material, while not looking like a super high-end piece, is still nice and classy and I wouldn't be embarrassed to have it anywhere in my house. We purchased 2 of these ottomans, and they are perfect for the sofa we bought them for. They are high quality, and very well finished. The sides of the ottoman are heavily stuffed, and are plumper than the picture. Its worth noting that the bottom is covered, and one side has a built in leather strap for ease of moving the ottoman.
