OmniMount Ultra Low Profile Wall Mount with Tilt (For Large Screens 42" - 63") - ULPT-L

The unit came with awful instructions that I AND my electrician could not follow. Turned out, there was a manufacturing flaw requiring we bend two metal flaps that were covering key components we needed to access. Took us hours to realize this. Once on the wall, one of the latches that secure the unit to the bottom rail was defective and did not catch. At this point we had so many hours into the installation that we left it as is (it's safe, but just not latched on the bottom). So one side of the unit is about 1/4 inch farther from the wall than the other.

The holes in the fireplace brick were the worst part as I had to use a regular drill with masonry bit. Once the frame was up and secure, I found the supplied bolts did not fit as described in the instructions. However I was able to use the bolts in place on the TV back. The main frame was off just a bit as I was getting tired as the drilling was almost complete. The TV part was able to adjust to level the set perfectly and it looks great. It really opened up the room by getting the cabinet from in front of the fireplace. I plan on getting another mount for the smaller set in my bedroom. Thank God those walls aren't brick!

I mounted mine in my bedroom. I also have metal studs. When you buy this mount its not going to have any instructions about anything other than wood or masonry applications. When you read on the internet about mounting tv's to metal studs there are a lot of different opinions from having to replace your metal studs with wood ones from "it's not a problem". Of course you don't want your $2,000 TV crashing to floor so there really is no second chances here if you are doing it yourself. So I decided that I'd be safe. I used four toggle bolts on each side; however, I think I could have got by with 2 toggle bolts on each side by just placing them in the same holes as the manufacturer intended you to use for the wood or masonry screws. I just went to Lowes and bought the largest toggle bolts they had. It's a bit of a pain to make the holes in the studs to get these toggle bolts through, but if you have a large drill bit (3/4") it should be relatively easy. (Yes, this is a big hole in your wall...it's okay!) I had a smaller drill bit and used a file to make the hole the right size. (For anyone who cares, the way I used four toggle bolts was by buying metal stips at Lowes (w/the holes in them). I attached these metal strips (perpendicular to the floor) to the wall first and then placed the wall mount over the top of them. The two middle holes were merely sandwiching the sheet rock between the stud and and my metal strips. (This basically just reinforced the area/stud). This was covered up well by the TV when it was all installed. Anyway...don't let the metal studs scare you, it will take you a little longer, but go to Lowes and buy 4 toggle bolts and a 3/4" drill bit. Be careful to drill in the center of the stud so you don't drill out one of the sides. This will not be ideal. You'll need to use mild pressure as the stud will have a tendency to push away from your bit when you apply pressure. Just go slow and let the bit do the work. By the way this is nice mount. It's a little expensive, but the instructions are good and I had no problems with it. Remember you get what you pay for.

Very thin. very strong, sturdy, and well made. easy to install. if you're looking for a FIXED mount, this is the one. It doesnt swivel, but it's not supposed to.
