Tall Lamp Provides Quiet Light
Ann from Omaha, NE – Verified Buyer– Top 1000 Reviewer
I really believe that lighting is the most important part of home decor. You can take the most beautiful piece, and put it under a fluorescent lamp, and chances are, it's going to look a little pale. That's why I really like this Japanese-style lamp. It's made of linen with a metal frame. My first thought was that it's going to be impossible to keep clean, but that has not been the case. The creamy white shade is actually low maintenance, dust a bit, then apply a lightly damped sponge. The black frame really makes it gorgeous. My living room is a cross between traditional, college kid, and boho. Somehow it all works, and this piece sits in the corner beneath a silver/gold rectangular mirror, on a black frame, glass end table. So the black framed lamp goes perfectly with the table. One thing that bothered me was that the bottom came off, and had to be reglued. This was not entirely the fault of the lamp, but some spilled liquid. It didn't seem like there was enough liquid to do that much damage. The quality of light is soft and warm, so when people come over, they feel relaxed in this nice light. -- ann madeline
Even BETTER Than Described!
Norm from McAllen, TX
I'd post a picture, but there is no point - it's exactly like it looks here. We used two of them as bedroom lights on night stands. One thing the description doesn't mention is where the switch is located - it's on the cord, so I attached the switches to the sides of the night stands with double-sided mounting tape - just roll over and hit it. The style is arts & crafts, but the squareness works in our Asian-inspired bedroom. I was expecting the background to be paper or glass, but it's actually heavy lamp shade material - a nice surprise!

Works great, has smooth clicking on/off switch, Adds accent to living space, lot bigger than I was expecting but still nice.
