“I want to know if this cotton candy maker is easy to clean, and does it make a lot of noise when in use?” asked by Gregory

"Hi Gregory. There is an extractor head, where the sugar goes, and this piece is what gets most sticky. It lifts directly off the post, and you can put that in hot soapy water in the sink for a suggested 15/20 minutes (until the sugar is all melted off). You then rinse it with fresh water, and make sure it dries completely so it does not rust (the manufacturer suggests overnight. Don't use when its damp!). The bowl that's around the unit lifts right off as well, so you can soak that too. Everything else you can simply wipe down with a damp cloth. As far as the noise is concerned, it definitely has a hum to it , as there is a small motor plus it is spinning. The manufacturer described it as a "vibration noise, nothing you have to shout over.""

I have to hold it still so it doesn't fall off the counter. The heat up time is very long. When you put the sugar in it sprays all over the place making a huge mess. The amount of cotton candy made is tiny and if you don't hold the cone properly it will burn on the center. Plus the sugar burned my wrist! I have since purchased a larger safer commercial unit for $150 more and it is awesome. Don't waste your money on this ~ it looks cute but that's the only positive. Was this helpful? Yes / No

Carnival Girl from Barrie, Ontario	4.0 1/10/2011 Carnival Worthy Let the machine warm up for 5 minutes. Turn the machine off, and fill with sugar. Turn back on and swirl the cone around and on top of the basin. The one package of sugar that comes with it is exremely yummy! So far, we've made 10 cotton candy cones, and there's still lots of sugar left, but I would still order the extra pack of sugars at the same time as the machine...save on shipping and ordering again....plus with the extra pack you get different flavours. You only get one flavour with the machine. Very easy to use, and it's carnival worthy. I highly recommed this Cotton Candy Machine. Was this helpful? Yes / No
Kathy from Winder, GA	5.0 10/18/2010 Awesome cotton candy maker Machine worked great, just make sure you let it heat up for at least 5 minutes before adding the sugar. I was disappointed that the flavored sugar wasn't included with the machine but I purchased the refill kit at the same time so I was able to make the cotton candy that same day. It says you can add a pinch of presweetened drink mix to regular sugar to make flavored cotton candy but I haven't tried it that way yet. I love this machine! Was this helpful? Yes / No
